U.S. presidential candidate Ben Carson recommended praying for rival Donald Trump after the real-estate mogul and television personality, in a 95-minute rant in Iowa, likened him to a child molester, Carson's business manager said on Friday.
"When I spoke with Dr. Carson about this yesterday how we should respond, you know he was so sad about it. He said: "Pray for him." He feels sorry for him because he really likes Mr. Trump," Armstrong Williams, who often acts as Carson's surrogate in the media, told CNN.
"To see him just imploding before our very eyes - it's just sad to watch," Williams said.
Speaking in Iowa on Thursday evening, Trump, a leading contender for the Republican nomination in the 2016 presidential election, cast doubt on Carson's oft-reported story of lunging at someone with a hunting knife as a child, an episode Carson says led him to his Christian faith.
A retired neurosurgeon, Carson has emerged as the main challenger to Trump's top position in national polls and popularity in early deciding states. A Reuters/Ipsos poll this month found 31 percent of Republicans favored Trump. Carson followed at 18 percent.
"Give me a break," Trump said in his Thursday speech, where he also lashed out at other Republican candidates and Democratic front-runner Hillary Clinton. "How stupid are the people of Iowa? How stupid are the people of the country to believe that crap?"
He said the incident showed Carson had a "pathological" temper.
"If you're pathological, there's no cure for that," Trump said. "If you're a child molester, there's no cure. They can't stop you."
Carson has said his intended stabbing victim's belt buckle blocked his knife, a detail Trump singled out in his rant.

Carson? Drop out. Nothing less will do. That and apologize for his lies.
“It’s been my experience that the guy to be most wary of isn’t the braggart but the quiet guy.”
*facepalm*
Yeah, ok.
“He’s not going to say anything, but when he’s had enough, he’ll open up hell.”
First time I heard that nonsense was in 1996 with Bob Dole.
I like Trump. He’s my second choice(after Cruz). I like how he says what he thinks and calls out people who attack him. But I wish he’d stay on message (Make America Great Again), focus on Hillary, and tone down non-policy comments on Republican competitors. Trump’s comments about Rubio’s sweating and some of his comments about Carson make me cringe. Besides not sounding presidential, Trump may alienate some of their supporters - and he’ll want their support after those candidates drop out.
He’s RETIRED!
Oh so you want to parse using child molester vs. pedophile? That’s sad...
People are afraid of tough guys.
Carson understands he is competing and it is a dirty game.
If you want a pretty campaign go to the Mizzou safe zone; otherwise, you have to face reality.
The economy and the markets are collapsing. The markets will be around 50% lower by election time. That will terrify people. Give it a few more months and it will be a bloodbath.
People are going to be demanding for Trump and no one else because this is Trump’s game.
People already know Trump’s platform.
The people of Iowa were showing support for Carson.
You need to ask why he went off on Carson? Really?
If you like Carson, just come out, say so, and pump for Carson.
If you like Trump, then quit being such a dunderhead.
Um, no.
Actually, the term "pathology" has a specific meaning in a psychological setting - which is almost assuredly the meaning Carson himself had in mind when he used it since his pre-medical degree was in psychology.
That definition is,
"operational modifications in someone or an organ corresponding to or stemming from illness or disorder. 2. the scientific analysis of operational and structural modifications engaged in physical and cognitive disorder and illness."
We're not talking about "spiritual redemption" here. Especially since, as an SDA, Ben Carson is not saved and hasn't been "made a new creature" per II Cor. 5:17.
“Actually itâs wisdom; although Iâm not surprised by your reaction.”
Okay, genius, then why did you respond to what I posted?
a) I don’t see Carson slamming Trump over his infidelity.
b) If Trumpâs infidelity is confirmed to be fact (I am taking your word on it for argument’s sake) then the source doesn’t matter. Not one of the MSMs smears agaist Carson has be proven and most have been totally debunked, yet Trump and his people keep using them.
Why doesn’t Trump go after him on the issues? I don’t like Carson’s position on immigration and a few other issues, that is why I support Cruz.
Trump’s slanderous attacks and disgusting innuendos have confirmed to me that he has the morals and integrity of a Democrat.
In this book, he tells of this story:
“A classmate came along and began to ridicule me. I had a camping knife in my hand and without thinking, I lunged at him plunging the knife into his abdomen”
In his book: “Gifted Hands” :
Carson relates that in his youth he once tried to hit his mother in the head with a hammer over a clothes dispute.
Also in this same book: “While he was in the ninth grade he tried to stab a friend for changing the radio station”
In Carson's book: “America the Beautiful” “He said that on November 4, 2015 he changed to Republican. He was an Independent in the 1990’s..In Feb 2013 he said he was not a member of any political party”
RE: Carson? Drop out. Nothing less will do. That and apologize for his lies.
I’m not talking about his dropping out ( which at this point in time, he shouldn’t by the way, seeing how he is nipping in Trump’s heels ), but what the best VERBAL RESPONSE to Trump comparing him to a child molester should be.
RE: and apologize for his lies.
What lies?
“Hey VanDork - I didn’t say anything about Trump after 9/11 comments “
Dork....how cute.
#2 There were plenty of the same types that went on their epic meltdown like you when it came to those comments.
“And I can deal with reality - which you obviously cannot. Trump has evolved into someone who can NEVER be elected because of his proclivity to offend everyone but the koolaide group.”
List of the offend:
Leftists
GOPE
Wimpy “conservative candidates” that couldn’t hold-out against Trump.
Conservatives that pretend to be these hard-core warriors, bragging about how more tough they are compared to those Nancy-boy libs, but are now crying in the corner.
Seems like a great group to be part of.
“I’ve been for Cruz all along “
No kidding? Good luck with him if you expect him to accomplish much more than be the punching bag for the left when they start going after him. Because if he is only able to respond with some crap like “pray for them”, then he wont last a week.
It certainly doesn’t.
Carson describes himself, and then others get all upset that Trump repeated what Carson had said and more.
That hurts Trump?
That’s funny...
Oh really? Don’t like it when people fight back? Are you part of the regular hoo-hum life goes on party?
Yep Trump is my candidate 100% and he is here to stay!!!
Nah, I am actually quite balanced. I've even applauded Trump many times on his immigration position because I agree with it and know he comes under withering attack for standing strong on that issue. So, you're just wrong.
Cruz is my candidate, and I am quite sure you won't see him bizarrely comparing any of his competitors to child molesters. See, Cruz has the right temperament to be Commander in Chief, "the Donald" simply doesn't.
RE: âA classmate came along and began to ridicule me. I had a camping knife in my hand and without thinking, I lunged at him plunging the knife into his abdomenâ
In his book: âGifted Handsâ :
Carson relates that in his youth he once tried to hit his mother in the head with a hammer over a clothes dispute.

So, are those narratives true or false?
How do we know they are false?
If true, what makes one think that a person at this age cannot change, since he believes he has been spiritually redeemed?
he never implied Carson was a child molester but in my opinion if you tried to murder innocent people(which that wack job Carson admitted to doing) you are just about as bad
Wow,,that’s some scary stuff!
RE: Why doesnât Trump go after him on the issues? I
THAT’s EXACTLY what I want to see Trump do.
Trump is right on most issues ( I draw the line with his views of eminent domain ), but if he has to stoop to referring to a person as akin to a child molester or ridiculing a woman’s face ( int he case of Fiorina ), he’s telling us more about his character than anything else can.
