According to a new a report from the Heritage Foundation, Sen. Ted Cruz is just about the ideal presidential candidate.
Heritage Action, the political arm of perhaps the most respected think tank in the conservative movement, which is now run by former South Carolina Sen. Jim DeMint, had almost nothing but praise for Mr. Cruz in its first ever presidential policy scorecard.
One of the report’s most stirring salutes involves Mr. Cruz’s regular campaign promise to actually do what he says, instead of getting distracted by the many trappings and sellouts of Washington, D.C.
Put another way, he won’t lie to you and is known for, um, having a pair.
“Like many other candidates, Senator Cruz has articulated a firm commitment to limited government principles,” reads the report. “He stands out from the field for his willingness to use all available leverage to fight for those principles, even when the battle is uphill.”
....
All of that should bode well for Mr. Cruz’s chances of finishing in the top three in the Iowa caucuses come February, which has been the historical measuring stick for those who eventually go on to secure the Republican nomination for president.
...
Mr. Cruz, on the other hand, is at his very best when addressing controversial policy and ideological challenges. His winning debate performance last month rested on his ability to rattle the cages of the liberal press without coming across as a victim, which will be a vital asset for each and every issue the future president of the United States decides to champion.
...
Navigating that cultural minefield successfully is going to take near-perfection from our nominee. According to the Heritage Foundation, Mr. Cruz is the one best prepared for such a time as this.

One of the best anti-illegal immigration studies (Richter?) of the past decade was published by Heritage. It didn’t get much more exposure, because some True Conservatives think Heritage is fluoridating their drinking water.
I thought your typed “beverage”......:(
That's Manor Bush, they did that to Ronnie incessantly, using their golem Jim Baker to do it. Stacking the policy deck everyway they could think of, to try to paint Reagan into a corner and get the outcomes the Chamber types wanted.
Bush 41 never showed any visible inclination to play straight with Reagan during Ronnie's presidency, and Bush's goons shoved everybody out of the way in 1988 to secure the keys to the White House. They fixed the nomination all the way down to the precinct-chairman level. I was there; I saw it.
Then he writes that "Nancy didn't like Babs" -- well, boo frickin' hoo! Is it any wonder?
Very Yankee-gentry people, and nasty in the clinches.

Agreeing is great. Now top it and make it HIS issue and away we go!
Better description
Ted Cruz believes we should triple the size of the border patrol and complete a double layer border fence — an actual, physical border fence, not an “electronic barrier” or other liberal-speak names for illegal alien TV monitors that does nothing to deter crossing.

Back in 2013 Sen. Ted Cruz was criticized by others that his demands for a complete secure border was unrealistic.
But in a June speech to the Senate, Cruz said he would not support any reform bill until the United States established “100 percent operational control” of its border with Mexico.
A few weeks earlier, he voted to block debate of an immigration bill hashed out by the bipartisan “Gang of Eight.”
“The insecurity of our borders is causing human tragedies in our country, many, many of which are occurring in my home state of Texas,” Cruz told the Senate on June 22. “Central to any debate over immigration is the need to secure our borders.”

I could really go for an adult beverage about now ....
I pulled over after reading your post and had a Balvenie Doublewood.......it was a great single shot if daytime drinking.
You are wrong.
Carson, no chance. Rubio, doubt it. Cruz, not at this time. Trump, the only chance.

THe latest polls of pub candidates against the witch say exactly the opposite of your perception. Trump is the only top tier candidate polling behing Clinton in a 1 on 1 race.
I really appreciate that run down. You do great work.
My question has to do with the enforcement of “immigration laws”, in that second to last paragraph— does the United States have deportation law(s) that deal with the massive invasion numbers of today? (Youngsters, infants, teenagers without parents, etc., etc.)

We can bet with % 100 certainty that if the Heritage Foundation endorsed Donald Trump even if they supported what ever agenda or even Agenda 21 that they would be celebrating and shouting this from the rooftops.
Heritage Foundation’s endorsements ( or any polls or source ) are not accepted unless they have praised and endorsed Donald Trump.
We have the laws to deport illegal immigrants. We need a president that will enforce those laws, including ending sanctuary cities.
