Trump thinks Carson is lying. He doesn’t like Politico, but that’s not the only source for Carson’s lies. Carson’s own words are one source. His Facebook post about West Point as well as his own statements in his autobiography. Trump knows Carson is lying, regardless of his opinion of Politico.

I think it’s likely Carson embellished some stuff.
And what happens when one embellishes things? It becomes a chaotic, “He said, she said” slap-fest over allegations and claims of what was exactly said.
Now this is where Trump shines.....he needs to really hit the media and the RATS hard.
In a better world these scumbags would be run out of town.
Yeah, and Carson said today (as reported by the Wall Street Journal) that he supports the TPP trade deal. Carson backers are suckers.

Trump was in error taking what Politico said about Carson at face value. Trump himself knows POS Politico was the one who made the claims about Herman Cain that were never proven.
Politico loves to go at Black and Female Republicans so the Democrats don’t have to run against them. Dems think they own women and black exclusive candidates.

That’s true. Trump is not a winner just because HE says he is a winner.

Politico had to retract their hit piece on Carson. Carson’s book says he was at a dinner with military medal winners and was offered a scholarship to West Point. He says in the book, he didn’t pursue that as he wanted to be a doctor.
In fact, right now Carson is on TV and once again tells that very story. Politico was wrong.

Carson will regret this. His own words belie him. See his autobiography and his own Facebook page comments. The truth will out about Carson, sooner than later.
I listened to Carson and here is the difference between what was reported by Politico and what actually happened.
Carson was, at a military dinner in a public place, offered a place at West Point, said he was being offered that due to his accomplishments at that time. He turned that down since he wanted to be a doctor. That is also what his book says.
It was an informal offer so there was never any paper work on it. Politico was trying to make it a legal offer with paper work and contracted West Point and there were no papers, so Politico said Carson lied about the offer, that it didn’t happen.
That is why Politico was wrong and had to admit it.
