WASHINGTON–The Palestine Liberation Organization on Thursday called a Senate hearing chaired by Sen. Ted Cruz on Iranian and Palestinian terrorism “biased and inflammatory.”
Cruz shrugged off the attack.
“It is not surprising a terrorist organization like the PLO is upset with the truths that were told at our hearing yesterday,” he said.

In an unusually blunt statement from its diplomatic mission in Washington, the PLO complained that Cruz’s hearing lacked any Palestinian viewpoints, and asserted that it painted all Palestinians as terrorists while failing to acknowledge “recent acts of Israeli incitement.”
“The growing and alarming trend in the United States to dehumanize Palestinians must be stopped and opposed by all who seek an end to the decades long conflict between Palestinians and Israelis,” said the PLO, which noted that Cruz is running for president. “Defending Israel should not come at the expense of Palestinians and for narrow political interest sought by presidential hopefuls who are appealing to pro-Israeli votes.”
Cruz convened the hearing entitled “Justice Forsaken: How the Federal Government Fails the American Victims of Iranian and Palestinian Terrorism,” on Wednesday afternoon. He chairs a Judiciary subcommittee.
The hearing focused on how to improve compensation for American terror victims while deterring further acts of violence. Victims and their family members gave gripping testimony about their experiences and criticized the Obama administration for insufficient help. Other witnesses suggested policy remedies and explained complications in the current system of awarding damages from responsible parties.
The PLO said Israel, not Palestinians, should be condemned for its actions.
“Israel…continues to defy international law with impunity because of the blind support it receives from people like Senator Cruz and other senators,” the organization said. “It is time for Israel apologists on the Hill to put U.S. national interests ahead of those of the current extreme right-wing government in Israel.”

Reporting what the enemy says, if ever it’s newsworthy, is proper. Just parroting -, or serving as the generally - quite - uncritical publicity department for the enemy — is not legitimate. It's a shame the mayor of Jerusalem told the citizens to carry a weapon (can you say “gun”), due to the Palestinians stabbing them with knives. Senator Cruz should know these knife carrying Palestinians have every right to kill Jews. (major sarcasm)
I think I've read every article coming out daily about who was stabbed that day. Older people are being stabbed more than other ages. Those knife stabbing Palestinians terrorists know the elderly likely don't have a weapon on them. They would be so wrong if I was there. Call me weapon carrying really old person.
If Cruz was president, he and Netanyahu would be bosom buddies and the freaking Arab terrorists every where, including ISIS, would know their time is about over.
No way would Cruz send a mere 50 special forces to Syria. He would know they are targeted to be killed. It will be on Obama’s head when they get murdered. I wouldn't want to be where Obama is going to be when he dies. He's going where every other killer Muslim is going.
In all my long life, I've never seen this country in such dire circumstances. One man did this, just one man. This is what happens when one man does whatever he wants regardless of laws and the constitution.
We must not have another president who thinks he can do what he wants when he wants, and I put Trump in that category. He's always done whatever he wants without any constraints. Obama thinks he is King and so does Trump as that has been Trump's behavior to do whatever he wants and when he gives an order in his companies, it's done immediately. A corrupt King and a benevolent King is still a King.
Cruz knows the constitution must be followed by a president. I sincerely think Trump does not know/understand the limitations the constitution sets forth for the use of presidential power. Our country is not a company owned by one person to do as he wants with it.
I don't hate Trump, but I think it would be a huge mistake to have him as president. He would be frustrated that he can't issue an order and have it happen immediately. I've heard him say he would issue executive orders and that is no different than we have now with disastrous results. Cruz knows he has to stay within the constitution and he can't make executive orders that are outside the limits set forth by the constitution.
Cruz has said, on his first day, he will revoke certain executive orders made by Obama. He knows how to do that within his constitutional power. Neither Trump nor Carson have that understanding of the constitutional powers of the legislative branch, the executive branch, and the Supreme Court branch.
