Five Wounded, Attacker Dead After Stabbing Spree at UC Merced: Officials

man wielding a knife went on a rampage at the University of California's Merced campus, stabbing five people before he was shot dead by police, officials said.

The violence unfolded about 8 a.m. PT in the school's Classroom and Office Building. The suspect was taken down within 20 minutes, the school said.

Two of the victims were airlifted to the hospital, but all were conscious, the school tweeted.

Hmmmm. Let’s see. Cops ended the incident about 20 minutes after it started. Response times? How soon were they on scene. Are UC Merced security disarmed? Is there security at UC Merced?

That is what impressed me with the recent Oregon shooting. The two Sheriff Deputies arrived at the college within a few minutes and went directly to the building where the shooting was and confronted the nut case. No waiting for backup, no waiting to “assess the situation”, etc.
