When President Obama signs into law the new two-year budget deal Monday, his action will bring into sharper focus a part of his legacy that he doesnât like to talk about: He is the $20 trillion man.
Mr. Obamaâs spending agreement with Congress will suspend the nationâs debt limit and allow the Treasury to borrow another $1.5 trillion or so by the end of his presidency in 2017. Added to the current total national debt of more than $18.15 trillion, the red ink will likely be crowding the $20 trillion mark right around the time Mr. Obama leaves the White House.

Masive debt destroys countries.
Clear what he is doing.
Guns in patriots hands are the last way of telling government that we no longer are playing their game.
Round and around we go......
Our children and grandchildren will pay a big price so that adults today can live the life they are entitled to.
We voted for it. They will pay for it. I don’t see any way we can avoid a true economic meltdown. It’s possible, but nobody will vote for austerity.
And how much of that debt do you think is in he and Mooch’s pocket?
Big deal. By the time he’s done we’ll have a $1 trillion bill.
In your face Americans.
Government doesn’t create wealth, the best it can do is minimize its intrusion and help to create a level playing field in international trade when needed.
But we have destroyed, through legislation, over-regulation, and taxation, the goose that laid the golden egg for this country.
There is no way we are going to pay back the debt we have incurred.
Why anyone would want the presidency following up this clown is beyond me, because he and his party are going to just keep borrowing to keep the moment of truth from occurring on his watch.
Senator Obama in his own words 2006 -
“’The fact that we are here today to debate raising America’s debt limit is a sign of leadership failure. It is a sign that the US Government can not pay its own bills. It is a sign that we now depend on ongoing financial assistance from foreign countries to finance our Government’s reckless fiscal policies. Increasing America’s debt weakens us domestically and internationally. Leadership means that “the buck stops here.” Instead, Washington is shifting the burden of bad choices today onto the backs of our children and grandchildren. America has a debt problem and a failure of leadership. Americans deserve better.’”

And never forget it was aided, at least in part, by the Grand Old Party. Disgusting!
Whoa. I can’t believe you said that.
I've been told that the US simply cannot default. It's impossible.
But, as far as I'm concerned, it's absolutely inevitable. There is no way we are going to pay back the debt we have incurred.
Upwards of $10 Million, I’ve read. The real money will start rolling in after he leaves office, or closes one of his private offshore accounts.
Clear what he is doing.
___
It is. What’s not clear is why both parties are aiding and abetting him in his efforts to destroy our country. Or is he aiding and abetting them? No matter. The destructive outcome will be the same.
Presidents don’t have to steal much anymore. Look at the Clintoons. Foundation, library fund, books, speaker fees, board memberships they don’t do anything for, 10 million hear and there it adds up to a very comfortable life. Obama can travel the middle east collecting “speaker fees” from radical muslims for tens of millions.
I do not know how to break it to Dave Boyer, but Obama had more than a little help getting that national debt up to the $20 Trillion range. $20,000,000,000,000.00?
Obama or any president cannot spend a dime without Congress’ approval and that approval has to originate in the House of Representatives. Y’all remember the House of Represenatives don’t you? You know the “People’s” chamber of Congress. The one that has been controlled by the Republican party since January 2011.
Yeah, THAT one.
Someone please tell me again, what the difference between the Republican party and Democrat party. I am having a real hard time remembering.
Agree with 2 and 3. Don’t civil wars, and possibly world wars start over stuff like this?
Because it’s not true?
Nah. Just something a guy says.
I dunno, just ‘cuz.
