Carson edges Trump in national poll

Ben Carson has edged out fellow GOP presidential candidate Donald Trump in a new national poll, taking the top spot from the real estate mogul for the first time in months.

Carson is supported by 26 percent of GOP primary voters, followed by Trump at 22 percent, according to the CBS News/New York Times poll released early Tuesday. All other candidates follow in the single digits, with Sen. Marco Rubio (Fla.) at 8 percent and businesswoman Carly Fiorina and former Florida Gov. Jeb Bush at 7 percent each.

The poll represents growing momentum for Carson, who surpassed Trump in several polls in the early voting state of Iowa over the past week ahead of the next GOP debate on Wednesday.

"Ben Carson is now doing well," Trump acknowledged on MSNBC's "Morning Joe" after the poll came out, adding that he believed Carson would see more scrutiny as a front-runner.

Please show me two pieces of evidence that say that “four million” stayed home in 2012. I have searched and searched for this. It’s a bogus claim based on a single IN article that actually had no real statistics. I could find no such statistics in OH, where Romney strongly outperformed McCain.

all the interchangeable infobabes are already ballistic in happy land.

There are candidates ahead of jbush but FNC constantly reports on jbush because he has cash to spend on advertising. jbush has really been wasting money on ads on the air.

In related news Carson, now on a book tour, is robo calling EVERYONE. IOW his pac is setting up a ground crew which will later be transferred to a GOPE candidate. (for those in rio linda: suckers)

That’s your view. Frankly, I don’t see a resume as a politician-buyjng, eminent domain-enthusiast crony capitalist as that for which I’m looking to be president, either.

But I’m for Cruz.

Trump says he'll stay in to win, even if running from behind

WASHINGTON (AP) -- Responding to Ben Carson's surge in Iowa, Donald Trump said Tuesday he'll
stick with the presidential race, even if he loses the luxury of running from atop the polls.

"I'm in it to the end," Trump said in a phone interview with MSNBC. Asked if he could
stomach running from behind, the billionaire businessman who likes to boast "I'm a winner"
sounded unusually introspective. He conceded he might lose his bid for the Republican nomination.

“it is unwise to overlook the fact that Dr Ben has the finest intellect and control of the language of any candidate in modern memory”

Why is that only evident to you?

............................................................
I agree, and as far as control of the language is concerned I would never agree. First of all, who can even hear what Carson is mumbling about?
He is also FAR to cozy with the likes of Al Sharpton. THAT disqualifies him totally.

Six million plus.

That number was not made up. It was assessed by more than one post-election analysis group. It was considered precise.

I read it and read it again.

Do your own internet research. I’m not avoiding it but I do not have the time. It could take 10 minutes or a few hours, I don’t know. Many reports that I have read in detail seem to disappear from the web unexpectedly. Today I save everything. I’m still searching for Mona Charen’s stellar piece on Anthony Kennedy’s ruling in the Windsor case. I should just request it directly from her, maybe she will send it.

Use search terns such as ‘post-election analysis’ and confine the search to 2013. Subsequent reports have it at 4 million. I don’t know where 4 million came from. The Perot Bloc is known to be six million plus and they were determined to have sat home. They are known to be conservative, straddling republican and independent registrations. They should have been inspired by the GOP candidate; they weren’t.

Several very reputable outfits pinpointed the Perot demographic as the cause of Romney’s loss. It wasn’t just a fluke report. It was detailed and heavy in research.

The Perot bloc is also known by the descriptors such as as blue-collar conservatives.

Good luck.

“But because a lot of Republicans want to bend over backwards and prove to the world how non-racist they are, they manage to be front runner in the polls for a while.”

I think you are on to something.

These recent polls may reflect Trump’s latest comments ie, “9/11 was GWB’s fault”.

Trump’s supporters still believe GWB did a good job after 9/11, they may have been offended at his statements.

The good news for Trump is that most GOP voters haven’t made up their minds. Seven in 10 likely Republican primary voters have yet to say which candidate they’ll support. And most of Trump’s supporters have made up their minds, while just 19 percent of those currently backing Carson say they are firm in their choice.................Something to consider...

But Trump carries a gun. Does Carson? I doubt it. I trust Trump on the issue.

Bush-Rubio-FioRino voters are moving to Carson in an attempt to take down Trump. They have realized their own candidate can not win.
