Rubio gives up on Senate: ‘He hates it’
Washington Post ^ | 10/25/2015 | David A. Fahrenthold

Marco Rubio is a U.S. senator. And he just can’t stand it anymore.

“I don’t know that ‘hate’ is the right word,” Rubio said in an interview. “I’m frustrated.”

This year, as Rubio runs for president, he has cast the Senate — the very place that cemented him as a national politician — as a place he’s given up on, after less than one term. It’s too slow. Too rule-bound. So Rubio, 44, has decided not to run for his seat again. It’s the White House or bust.

“That’s why I’m missing votes. Because I am leaving the Senate. I am not running for reelection,” Rubio said in the last Republican debate, after Donald Trump had mocked him for his unusual number of absences during Senate votes.

Five years ago, Rubio arrived with a potential that thrilled Republicans. He was young, ambitious, charismatic, fluent in English and Spanish, and beloved by the establishment and the tea party.

What a quitter. Has Ted Cruz given up? No, he still fights in the Senate while simultaneously running for President. I hope to God that Marco Rubio is defeated.

Well it is an entrenched old boys sh*t hole.

Term limits would help flush a few turds. But the cure may be worse than the desease.

Rubio has failed his voters, but to the GOP
that means NOTHING, because they are a pack
of lying vermin, whose Word means NOTHING.

Rubio has just publicly ‘whizzed’ on all that his parents fought to overcome, and ‘whizzed’ upon all of his constituents.

He has just shown that he has not the stamina that one must have when President. If he finds his present office too hard, how hard would he find it, faced with 350 million folks, and some of which don’t like him one bit?

“That’s why I’m missing votes. Because I am leaving the Senate. I am not running for reelection,....”

So I guess he’s leaving politics! Looks like he learned from his “mentor,” El Senor Hebbie, that somehow he’s entitled to be president.

Perhaps the Senate was just a stepping stone to the White House, and now that he realizes he won’t be President, he is frustrated.

It’s hard not to envy such problems.

Rubio is lazy and does not belong in our government. He talks a big line, but really does not care. Very childish. Bye bye Marco. Get a real job somewhere else.

Yeah, and he’s already qualified for the pension!

If getting sucked into a “Gang Of” compromise ended YOUR political career, you’d probably hate it too.

It’s his job as a representative. Why would anyone vote for someone who was elected to be a representative and then decided not to represent them. Go home Rubio. Find something else to do.

but the cure may be worse than the disease (re: term limits)

I agree. With term limits, the corrupts jerks would still be corrupt jerks. And they'd have to sellout to assure a job for life after politics. So, they'd sell out even faster.

What's the solution? Donald Trump. Someone who will come in there with no political hoops he had to jump to in order to be there.

How does this not kill his presidential bid?

He admits the lesser job is more work than he wants to do, while interviewing for the vastly more demanding job that leaves every president worn and aged beyond his years?
