In an exclusive interview with The Brody File, Ted Cruz says he has a plan to begin highlighting, policy differences between him and Donald Trump. There are plenty of policy differences and there may well come a time when we start highlighting those more, Cruz tells The Brody File. In a political campaign there are seasons and phases to it as the race narrows down, as people start making choices, we may see some more policy contrasts.
Cruz has been climbing in the polls and has the money to make a serious run at the nomination. Hes been courting evangelical voters since his announcement speech at Liberty University. The truth is this: Cruz needs Trump to fade to have a realistic shot. The Brody File contends that Trumps biggest threat is not Jeb or Rubio. Its Cruz. Hes going after many of the same voters as Trump and he has the credentials, intellect, debating skills and passion to really make a dent in Trumps voter pool.
One other quote from Cruz during our interview:
I think the sharpest difference between my record and that of every other candidate is that people are tired of campaign conservatives. Theyre tired of people who talk a great game while theyre on the campaign trail but they actually havent walked the walk and I think people are looking for a consistent conservative.
Watch the video at the link from CBN News/The Brody File.
Cruz will never give a straight answer on this because his campaign strategy is built on getting Hispanics to vote for him.
His campaign people have stated this on the record.
He’s for amnesty lite but has tricked a lot of conservatives to think that he isn’t.
Cruz himself says his general election strategy is based on Hispanics:

Obviously he’s not going to deport the invaders.
Yes. His personality can be a drawback in many cases. He has so many issues nailed that I can put up with a little bluster. Not a deal breaker.
Big mistake. Counterproductive.
I agree.
how’s that...TPP has passed?
.
Trump has no ‘policies.’
He hasn’t the slightest idea how his nonsense could be done (it cannot).
Trump supporters are low info weather vanes that just like to have their ears tickled with absurd bombast.
.
Sorry .. when you’re on a “leave of absence” .. YOU ARE NOT EMPLOYED.
Sorry .. I worked in personnel for years .. when you’re on a leave, you don’t get pay, you don’t get healthcare, you don’t get anything from the company.
In order to go back to work .. you have to go through lots of paperwork; you can’t just walk back in the door and say, “I’m here” ..!!!!
You guys don’t ever search for the truth .. you just mouth the junk you hear from somebody else - or your union - or your friends on the internet.
I find myself feeling the same way.
It is impossible, in this quarter of the game, not to take causing trouble for Trump personally.

It has been problematic enough to tolerate the Trump envious unfriendly Cruz supporters. If Cruz himself should become so desperate as to draw Trump into his “policy differences”, in a personal way, many, many of us would remove Ted from our second choice.
Why Ted would announce such a strategy makes it suspect that he needs to accelerate his campaign to reach his calendar goals.
Doing so at the expense of Trump, especially during the convergence of the Establishment/media really hammering Trump, will not be much appreciated.
Bush will get dumped and then Rubio will unify the RINO vote.
The Establishment plan is to use Carson and Cruz to pick off naive conservatives seeking a vanity candidate in order to defeat Trump.
If Carson drops out, most of his support would go to Trump. Donald is both the #1 first choice and the #1 second choice.

Trump is the person the Establishment wants to defeat the very most. The RINOs will sacrifice anything to stop him.
Another headline trying to stir up conflict between Trump fans and Cruz fans.
Do not keep falling for this stuff.
Trump wants to expedite the millions of good ones back in. And his plan doesn't even mention that he would deport the millions of good ones out.
A priceless opus, there. Very well said. I am happy with Trump as that nationalist candidate, but I could not agree more with what you so aptly said.
.
I think it’ll be very productive to demonstrate that Trump’s talk, while pleasing to the ears, is just vapor as long as the courts can block his fairy tales.
Cruz’ every move has so far earned him respect from those that understand what we’re up against.
It’ll be interesting to watch.
Good, glad to see Ted Cruz finally make his move on Trump.
Not that I haven’t appreciated what Trump has brought to the campaign. Donald has the personality and charisma to get peoples attention and to focus them on the issues that are destroying this country. But Donald is a celebrity. Yes that makes him unattached from any responsibility from this mess we are in. But is he the right man for the job?
But Ted Cruz got to Washington in 2012 by rocking the boats of the establishment in Texas. Then when he got to DC he has really been rocking the boats of the establishment there. 100% of Democrats and probably 75% of Republicans HATE Ted Cruz. When that happens, the man IS doing something right for the country.
Donald is saying things that matter. Make America Great Again is great slogan. But Donald Trump has offered NO specifics on what he would do if elected.
Ted Cruz is making a great move at the right time. People are in engaged in the campaign now. Trump has rendered the campaigns of Jeb! and Rand Paul obsolete. He has people on focused on the issues. Now it’s time for Ted Cruz shine and show his superior knowledge on those issues and emerge as the TRUE conservative leader this country needs.
2016 I believe is our last shot at repentance and at saving this country. If we elect another Socialist-Democrat, or some celebrity just having a good time, we will not survive.
We need a principled Conservative who is willing to go against the establishment, fight and hold his ground and be willing to be unpopular and make the necessary moves to save this country.
That man is Ted Cruz.
It’s Cruz....or lose.
LOL!
There sure are a lot of Trump supporters that seem to be afraid of some highlighting of policy differences. For the life of me I can’t figure why a thinking person would not want to learn more about the candidates by an honest contrast of positions and policy. It almost like a cult or something.
“There sure are a lot of Trump supporters that seem to be afraid of some highlighting of policy differences.”
I’m not afraid. I think it’s great. Cruz will not compare well. His numbers will not go up. As JimRob said, “counterproductive.”
“For the life of me I cant figure why a thinking person would not want to learn more about the candidates by an honest contrast of positions and policy. It almost like a cult or something.”
Not this crap again.
.
>> “Bush will get dumped and then Rubio will unify the RINO vote.” <<
.
What RINO vote?
That has been Bush’s big letdown. The RINO vote was never there; it was nothing but collected nose-holders voting for the “least worst” candidate.
.
“Trump has no policies.”
Okay, you win. /sarc Trump has no policies. He has no policy about illegal immigration. No tax policy. No policies whatsoever. Thank you for blessing us with your intelligence.
“He hasnt the slightest idea how his nonsense could be done (it cannot).”
Another brilliant point /sarc. Trump has no idea how to do things. His history of building a 10 billion dollar business proves that. As to your point “it cannot”. Man, you really on a role. For example, not only will he not build a border wall, you make the brilliant point that “HE CANNOT” build a border wall.
Too much wisdom for one night.
