Rep. Paul Ryan announced Thursday that he is officially running for speaker of the House, and he is likely to be elected next week.
"I never thought I'd be speaker," Ryan said in a statement. "But I pledged to you that if I could be a unifying figure, then I would serve -- I would go all in. After talking with so many of you, and hearing your words of encouragement, I believe we are ready to move forward as a one, united team. And I am ready and eager to be our speaker."

TRUMP TRUMP TRUMP TRUMP!!
His “promises” aren’t worth a tinker’s damn! These criminals know damn well. Disgusting.
But..but he said it would be different this time!
But no conservative stepped up to run for speaker. Not one.
Daniel Webster was barely conservative according to ACU. (IS there another conservative rating group other than ACU?) 73.
Jordan of Ohio scored 100 but didn’t run. Why?
Looks like we’ll be lucky to see 10 gop pukes vote against him. Barely a handful. That’s what we get for showing up.
But it’ll be different next time. Really. Paul and Mitch promise.
My sentiments exactly.
Folks and FRiends, we have more evidence than we need that the GOPe not only is not our party and our ally but is an enemy actively engaged in destroying us and empowering those who stand against us.
We need to destroy the GOPe.
Because he knew the fix was in.
Kabuki thestre at it’s best.
Not Weakness and Excuses.
Collusion.
They are active, willing, knowledgeable participants in running this country off the cliff to the Left.
BTW, Webster has a "D" rating (64%) at Conservative Review (https://www.conservativereview.com/members/daniel-webster/).
I have found it very troubling that no one will step forward. The only conclusion that I can come up with so far, is that none of them believe that they can get elected.
It is a very troubling situation, what is your take on it?
Thanks, that makes some sense and details will become more clear before the vote.
Maybe it’s not as good as they make it sound though.
The change he wants in the ‘vacate’ vote is to require a majority of the caucus- that’s why too high a bar. Though more than one Member would be reasonable.
Next session will have more conservatives, though perhaps a bare RINO majority, and his rule would encourage the RINOs to continue walking over the conservatives- which is the cause of their problems!
The fight against our GOP-e `friends’ continues. They will continue to concentrate their fire on us—throw them all out.
CONSERVATIVE PARTY 2016!
Now we’ve been betrayed by the Freedom Cock-us. Is there anybody at all in our corner? Anyone who will not cave?
Watch the results of the public vote on the 29th. I predict that you will see a small handful (5-10) that will vote against Lyin’ ryan.
Rush says they wrote the script on this entire thing from start to finish “Webster to Ryan” about 4 weeks ago, and now they’ve been acting it out. He says the “Donor Class gets what the donor class wants.”
I take that to mean he thinks they’re all bought and paid for.
Not a big Ryan guy but since when is a "super majority" not "support"?
Yes, I heard that segment today; I believe that Rush is correct.
Whatever happened to Zinke?
Cantor...?
I think his demise scared MçCarthy enough to quit.
I have given up on mine (Brad Wenstrup). He ran as a conservative, Iraq War vet, but has been a BIG disappointment. Heard him on the radio today, and BIG SURPRISE, he is going to back Paul Ryan for Speaker, AND he is running for re-election next year. Not voting for this RINO again.
Yep. It will be different. LOL.
Can’t wait to laugh at the lies the GOP will tell us in 2016 election cycle.
