Washington (CNN)Donald Trump doesn't believe there is enough evidence to blame pro-Russian separatists for last year's downing of a commercial airliner over Ukraine -- despite the fact that the U.S. intelligence community believes "with confidence" that pro-Russian separatists shot it down.
"That's a horrible thing that happened," he said. "It's disgusting and disgraceful but Putin and Russia say they didn't do it, the other side said they did, no one really knows who did it, probably Putin knows who did it. Possibly it was Russia but they are totally denying it."
Trump was responding to a question from CNN noting that the U.S. government assesses that the several points of available evidence all point to Russia.

Yep, another bs title
An amazingly false headline.
The media is one frigging joke and how any of them can actually state they are journalists or even work for a news channel is laughable and they should be embarrassed.
If someone had a serial number off the missile pieces left....then we might just force folks to conduct an inventory of both Ukraine and Russia...and see who has a missing missile. But without that evidence....nothing else is going to happen.
As for the guy who pushed the button? Oh, I’m 100-percent sure that guy is dead and the next one or two guys above him are probably dead too.
The best good people can do is expose what the biased media does.
The correction, (if any) is a squib on page C-16, inside edge, under the fold, next to the lingerie ad, a week later.
And they wonder why we don't trust them...
I see Misleading Headlines. They’re everywhere.
Trump is willing to let Putin skate on this matter. I thought that we were concerned that Obama is unwilling to confront Putin over his aggression in Georgia, the Crimea, and eastern Ukraine and for his intervention in Syria (where he commands the USofA not to fly its warplanes).
Yet, when the Donald takes an even less vigorous approach, we’re supposed to applaud him?
Oceania has always been at war with Eastasia!
And I heard that Trump said, “Macaca” too so let’s just dump him and support Yeb Bush Viva Senior Bush! Bush/ Rubio 2016 right?
I read the headline and thought ‘ruh-roh, Trump just jumped the shark’. Who writes these headlines?? It would appear that Trump’s shark is still circling the GOPe.
In the article;
“And we’re going to go through that arguing for probably for 50 years and nobody is ever going to know. Probably was Russia.”
Maybe Trump is smart enough to know accident like this over war zones happen - case in point - when the US shot down an Iranian passenger jet in the Persian Gulf in 1988. The US never admitted guilt because the passenger jet was flying over an active warzone.
Why should Trump talk tough over something like that? To make himself seem strong? That is indeed why I like Trump - he does not have to pretend to want to go "nuclear combat toe to toe with the Roosskies" to prove to people he is "tough".
That is not giving Trump a pass - that is paying him a compliment.
I agree with all who are b1tching about the CNN spin on what Trump actually said.
If one actually listens to the interview (which I have), you’ll hear him say that it was probably the Russians, but that we’ll never really know the truth.
What was more interesting was his response to the bimbette who tried to box him into a corner - he had said that we have far more pressing matters to attend to here at home. When she said, ‘yes, but all those people...’, he responded that it was indeed a tragedy, but there was nothing we could do about it - and got right back on his message.
Trump is not naïve at all on foreign matters - he builds stuff all over the world and probably has a better grasp of world events than the candidates that talk as if they want to start WW3 just to make it seem they are tough guys.
BINGO! A realistic answer. Not one that please those that love the idea the USA is somehow the world's police man. Hey, maybe if the world paid the USA (in gold and silver preferably and not worthless paper dollars) to be the beat cop for the world I would support the role. But as of current circumstances? No thank you.
I’m beginning to realize that Democrats must be somewhat schizophrenic. When there are clear acts of war (such as 9/11), against the USA, they don’t want us to get involved. But when someone else is being destroyed, we had better get in the fight or we have no conscience.
[”That’s a horrible thing that happened,” he said. “It’s disgusting and disgraceful but Putin and Russia say they didn’t do it, the other side said they did, no one really knows who did it, probably Putin knows who did it. Possibly it was Russia but they are totally denying it.”]
Stirring murky water does not make it clean.
It’s conditioning - don’t care for America unless its to help non Americans.
