I was told that Trump is playing chess, even though he handed the Dems something to talk about for the next 12 months.

Amnesty hustler Jeb Bush defends his amnesty-hustling brother GWB with the pat phrase, "My brother kept us safe".

Trump is just poking a hole or two in that story line. Can't blame him for that. Trump's message that his immigration policies would keep us safer than those of the open-border Bushes is just common sense.

The point is that Donald Trump is willingly attacking Jeb Bush from the left – and not just the center left, but the fringe, extremist left who were already routed conclusively in the 2004 elections...

And 'W' attacked Cruz, not Trump...

"Curiouser and curiouser", said Alice.

Bunk.

Pure bunk. The two are on very different pages.

Besides Moore is anti-Trump.

Saying that deporting criminals who overstay their visas would have prevented those criminals from overstaying their visas and then murdering 2,977 innocent Americans is not "fringe, extremist left". It's a simple fact. Bush did his best, which is far better than Jeb could possibly do, but he should have done more to protect us from illegals. Trump is my #2 choice, well behind Ted Cruz, and irrational nonsense like this is not going to change my opinion in either direction.

Red state is such a pathetic, loser website. They’re giving up readership in an attempt to smear Trump.

Apparently red state _still_ doesn’t understand what’s going on.

How many Trump critics does it take to screw in a lightbulb?

Don’t they see what Trump is doing here? Obviously not.

Donald Trump has Jeb Bush arguing about George Bush.

That’s got to be the campaign coup of the century.

But the Trump critics can’t see that.

I don’t know how many of them it takes... but I don’t want them up on a ladder in my house.

If the people supporting Trump had any interest at all in supporting a candidate who would advance the conservative movement

There aren't any conservatives...The word has come to be meaningless...What is this Red State??? Is it like Red China???

The Trump movement isn’t about Trump, it’s about the members of the movement wanting to be seen as as a political force that exists in rebellion to a shadowy conspiracy that they can’t even accurately describe, much less state a coherent objection to. Each person belonging to it fancies themselves to be the political equivalent of James Dean. However, like the many idiot imitators that Dean inspired, they are unable to see that their mindless imitation in the name of rebellion just makes them conformists of a particularly unimaginative stripe.

And then the author does the same thing he/she falsely accuses Trump of...

In the meantime, the longer Trump remains in front, the more permanent damage he will do to the ability of future Republican candidates to win elections

Good...That Party has outlived its usefulness...

Just goes to show Red State, like all the other GOPe ‘analysts,’ do not have a clue about Trump. They are lost in the woods. Trump’s daughter had it right when she said her dad is a straight forward guy and he will say what is on his mind and let the chips fall where they may, unlike ‘professional’ politicians who sit around parsing ever word they say. With regard to G.W., the towers did come down on his watch, whether anyone wants to admit it or not. If he had had a strong immigration policy, that would have meant something, but he always remained soft on immigration. He never was serious about building a wall and he stuck with the pro-amnesty corrupt Chamber of Commerce crowd on amnesty, though they thought they could hood wink Americans by dressing amnesty up as something different.

So what we are left with is the conclusion that Trump attacked Bush from the left... for no other reason than that he childishly enjoys getting a reaction out of Jeb Bush. in and God knows I have no Donald Trump fan but I am a fan of reasonableness and logic and I am willing to defend those concepts even at the cost of defending Donald Trump. Trump was against the Iraq war from the get-go and Trump was right and George Bush was wrong, as was I. Trump clearly believes in a minimalist foreign policy of intervention but with a strong military which I suppose he would compare to Ronald Reagan or with Teddy Roosevelt's walk softly and carry a big stick approach.

I think Trump also disdains a loser and he regards the Bushes as losers, not in winning elections, of course, but in their success or lack of it in governing. The disaster in Iraq is of a piece with one disaster after another in the Bush administration from Iraq to Katrina to The Great Recession and Trump is simply not going to allow any Bush to get away with saying that he kept us safe when in fact 9/11 occurred on George Bush's watch. So the ineptitude compounds in Trump's eyes: Bush through his myopia on immigration opened the gates for the 9/11 terrorists, and that mistake propelled him into a second mistake, the invasion of Iraq.

Trump might be contemplating a general election campaign in which he is fully divested of any Bush taint. Donald Trump will not pay the electoral price for George Bush's ineptitude. This is a perfectly reasonable election strategy to pursue and it is not gratuitous and it certainly is not "childish."

I think Trump is the true Democrat candidate, putting on the Republican sheep’s coat in the ultimate Machiavellian attempt by the pro-Obama ilk to take the next election electorally.

How is he really republican when they are so inept and his beliefs are so Democrat?

Smart. He will win. I/we(USA) will lose again, short term.
