What a long way that we have come in this country. The Republican front runner in 2015 is parroting Michael Moores 2004 propaganda film Fahrenheit 9/11 almost verbatim and theres actually a discussion as to whether this constituted good politics. Somehow almost everyone who is commenting on this story is completely missing the boat as to what Trumps parroting of Michael Moores talking points actually means in the context of the current Republican debates.
In the first place, I dont think Trump has any identifiable core beliefs about what happened on 9/11 and who is to blame. I dont really think that Trump has frankly though through the implications of what hes saying with respect to what Bush should have known about 9/11 and what institutional changes he could have been expected to put into place in the 8 months he was in office prior to the worst terrorist attack in United States history. All Trump knows is that he perceives this attack as being damaging to Jeb Bush, and so he is prepared to use it.
Second, I think it is incorrect to say that these comments by Trump make him a truther. Trump is not saying, at least as far as I can tell, that Bush directly caused 9/11, or that he had foreknowledge of 9/11 and chose to do nothing about it. Trump isnt quoting from Loose Change, hes quoting from Michael Moore. His argument is not that Bush was complicit, his argument is that Bush was incompetent......
The point is that Donald Trump is willingly attacking Jeb Bush from the left and not just the center left, but the fringe, extremist left who were already routed conclusively in the 2004 elections...

"Of course you would"
Beautiful. What does Donald Trump make?
The premise of this entire thread, that you posted, is a lie.
Trump makes waves.
Now you are lowering yourself to practicing the liberal (Alinsky) tact of projection? Wow! How deep you have gone to the Dark Side if that is the only argument you have outside of misrepresentation combined with name calling and lying.
But then again, maybe not because it has been your MO for quite some time, say like 2012 when you shilled for Perry until he embarrassed himself so spectacularly.

That’s a secret?
Wow.
You’re darn right I’m anti-Trump. All the years of fighting for a conservative, just to end up with this charlatan being heralded as the savoir of conservatism is a punch in the gut.
Jen is spending all his time defending W.
Campaign coup of the century.
Name calling.
That’s your fall back when you can’t look in the mirror.
What does (any) politician make?
Anyone.
Anywhere. Even one person. In either party.
Trump makes buildings well. Good ones, in fact.
Just goes to show Red State, like all the other GOPe ‘analysts,’ do not have a clue about Trump. They are lost in the woods. Trump’s daughter had it right when she said her dad is a straight forward guy and he will say what is on his mind and let the chips fall where they may, unlike ‘professional’ politicians who sit around parsing ever word they say. With regard to G.W., the towers did come down on his watch, whether anyone wants to admit it or not. If he had had a strong immigration policy, that would have meant something, but he always remained soft on immigration. He never was serious about building a wall and he stuck with the pro-amnesty corrupt Chamber of Commerce crowd on amnesty, though they thought they could hood wink Americans by dressing amnesty up as something different.
Against a two-bit player. And again, I was told that Trump is playing chess, even though he handed the Dems something to talk about for the next 12 months.
Post 8 correct
Hey, you started it with others, I was just giving a little of your garbage back. If you can’t stand the heat, get the H out of the kitchen.
Tuck Frump
He also knows how to go bankrupt, but that is beside the point . . . I was responding to the comment that Moore makes false documentaries, with which Trump apparently agrees.
I saw the Madhouse Rock show. Wow. That guy is a consummate showman.
I asked a question.
What does (any) politician make?
Name one other politician, who makes a single thing.
I basically dont attack anyone.
However I am strongly for Trump. Very much so.
Hes for rebuilding America. Hes for bringing jobs back to America.
Hes for defending our borders. Hes nearly perfect on the issues. America needs jobs again.
Go Trump. :D
Well said.
I think Trump also disdains a loser and he regards the Bushes as losers, not in winning elections, of course, but in their success or lack of it in governing. The disaster in Iraq is of a piece with one disaster after another in the Bush administration from Iraq to Katrina to The Great Recession and Trump is simply not going to allow any Bush to get away with saying that he kept us safe when in fact 9/11 occurred on George Bush's watch. So the ineptitude compounds in Trump's eyes: Bush through his myopia on immigration opened the gates for the 9/11 terrorists, and that mistake propelled him into a second mistake, the invasion of Iraq.
Trump might be contemplating a general election campaign in which he is fully divested of any Bush taint. Donald Trump will not pay the electoral price for George Bush's ineptitude. This is a perfectly reasonable election strategy to pursue and it is not gratuitous and it certainly is not "childish."
I don’t think it was a bad move at all.
1) it highlights how immigration policies contribute to not controlling our borders and reminds everyone about Trump’s uber popular immigration policies
2) it gets us talking about Trump’s most popular issue -immigration
3) it reminds us that some who are running are in favor of the same immigration policies that contributed to the mess we had pre 9/11 and now....and that some of theses people (i.e. bush, Rubio,Carly) actually want our borders MORE open.
4) it brings closet gope into the light by goading them into going pc on trump and having them claim offense just like Nancy pelosi.
5) it makes bush in particular argue for the unpopular immigration policies in question!
Trump may not get the nod but the silly, middle school “thinking” that tries to bring him down only continues to show he understands things better.
