nside a sleek Denver condominium, George W. Bush let a hundred donors to his brothers campaign in on a secret. Of all the rival Republican candidates, there is one who gets under the former presidents skin, who he views as perhaps Jeb Bushs most serious rival for the partys nomination.
It isnt Donald Trump, whose withering insults have sought to make Jeb pay a political price for his brothers presidency. It also isnt Marco Rubio, Jebs former understudy who now poses a serious threat to his establishment support.
I just dont like the guy, Bush said Sunday night, according to conversations with more than half a dozen donors who attended the event.
One donor in the room said the former president had been offering mostly anodyne accounts of how the Bush family network views the current campaign and charming off-the-cuff jokes, until he launched into Cruz.
I was like, Holy $hit, did he just say that? the donor said. I remember looking around and seeing that other people were also looking around surprised.
RINOs...
Losing elections and soiling the conservative uniform since 1960...
You got that right - no more Bushes not now not ever.
Big surprise! Ted Cruz respects the Constitution.
Shut up, George, you jackass.
Please tell me that is photoshopped.
You attack what you can’t control
This sounds a lot like a “planted” story. A mysterious unnamed donor? Really?
It smells like rotten fish.
“No ayudame no mas, mi hermano” El feliz tortuga
Don’t help me no more, bro. The Happy Turtle
With the exception of Nixon/Ford giving us Carter.
You mean his brother from another mother ?
putz.
Sounds like Dubya’s hittin the sauce again
Just a foreign policy tradition. US aid and trade with communists countries has also been used against us. Fight the enemy with one hand and help him cut our throats with the other.
No kidding. I never understood Dubya and the hand holding with the Arabs, but that’s as ghey as ... that’s ... it’s just disgusting.
Oh there it is. ...
Well, that is the last straw.
I’ve tried very hard to think mostly well of GWB, despite his mistakes and idiocies, especially during his second term.
This puts him in the same category as his father and brothers, who I have always despised.
Good analysis. And Cruz is much more well spoken than any of the Bushes.
That sounds like the remark of an Alzheimers patient, not a reasoned individual.
