You gotta love that Trump doubles down, he doesn’t back down for anything.

The Deafness Before the Storm

By KURT EICHENWALDSEPT. 10, 2012

On Aug. 6, 2001, President George W. Bush received a classified review of the threats posed by Osama bin Laden and his terrorist network, Al Qaeda. That morning’s “presidential daily brief” — the top-secret document prepared by America’s intelligence agencies — featured the now-infamous heading: “Bin Laden Determined to Strike in U.S.” A few weeks later, on 9/11, Al Qaeda accomplished that goal.

Trump never "walks anything back" (I hate that expression, by the way).

Instead, he doubles down.

Putin must be watching this campaign unfold and saying to himself, “This guy knows how to play chess”.

But he’s “not blaming GW Bush” for the attacks, right? If he had been President they never would have happened, right?

If I wanted to hear dem talking points I’d listen to a Hillary speech, or, you know.. a McConnell floor speech.

Jeb is a wuss on immigration, dead wrong about Common Core, and has no firm tax plan. Please, Trump, hit Bush on these things.

Rushwas defending Bush today--just as a reflexive thing. I finally turned him off, because I'm so mad at the Bush family, so sick of their pretentions, treachery, and condescension. Why does Rush think we should defend Bush?

When did the Bush family ever have a kind thing to say about conservatives? They despised us. They still despise us. I don't mind them being smeared, even if it is unfair. Let the violent criminal illegal invaders Laura and Columba adore defend that family of elitist morons!!

For those who have better than short term memories, that is what the Democrats were saying back then. It was their intention to take the heat off of the Clintons. It is outright amazing that left wing talking points from 14 years ago are being repeated by so-called conservatives, or should I say low information conservatives. Call me an elitist, I don't mind, but some of the things uttered by a certain wing of the conservative movement is just embarrassing.

Listening to Rush earlier. He bought back memories of the months before 9/11. For Trump to blame Bush for 9/11, just plain ignorant.

Attack bush’s amnesty. Thats fine. The dems Trump donated too back then would have impeached Bush had he gone to war before 9/11

The toughest that jeb bush ever showed himself to be was regarding his actions in the Terry Schiavo case.

And the man has the gall to talk about ‘love’.

This is the first thing Trump's done that I don't like.

GWB got totally non-specific warnings... probably got them every day. "terrorists want to blow up trains, stadiums, terorists want to crash planes.... terrorists want to take over ocean liners, trucks, etc.".

What was GWB supposed to do on all these warnings... put the entire country on lock-down... no planes, no trains, no ships, no sporting events, no shopping malls, etc.?

Bill Clinton must be very grateful Trump is working so hard to cover for him.

Trump has spoke on this issue for a long time.

"Over A Year Before 9/11, Trump Wrote Of Terror Threat With Remarkable Clarity"

“I really am convinced we’re in danger of the sort of terrorist attacks that will make the bombing of the Trade Center look like kids playing with firecrackers,” wrote Trump in his 2000 book, The America We Deserve. “No sensible analyst rejects this possibility, and plenty of them, like me, are not wondering if but when it will happen.”

Trump is not known as someone who talks big and does not deliver.

It is truly incredible to see him confront the major issues of our times and declare, “I can fix that.”

One can only wonders if, God willing, he gets the chance, and he finds that he has bitten off more than he expected, how will he respond?

I love Donalds positive can-do attitude. I want him to be successful, because he seems to understand the seriousness of the situation. I just fear that he may be putting himself in a position of over promising and under delivering.

When Dubya came to office 1/21 he sent appointments to the Senate. How many appointments had the Senate voted on by 9/11? How many had they only voted on a short time before 9/11 and the new office holders had only had a couple weeks to get up to speed?

Given the speed of events now is faster than 200 years ago, and given the candidate either knows his nominees 1 week after election day, the nominee should give his list of nominees to the Senate in December and require an up or down vote on all of them by Feb 21.

If the president and senators cannot do this in 2017 speed, then they are not qualified for the position they hold.

We need to change our traditions to keep up with the real world.

Trump pushes the “Bush’s fault” ... and the dems are loving it.
