On the morning of 9/11/2001, there was a big breakfast that was going to be held in a restaurant atop one of the Twin Towers. It was on the topic of an airliner crashing into a skyscraper.

That thought freaked me out.

I also specifically remember the memo of 6 August and what that did to ticom.

They knew, but they didn’t know how or when. Wasn’t Bin Laden’s principal opponent, Shah Massoud, was killed just prior to the attack.

We never have learned who shorted airline stocks that day, though.
