PLANO, Texas Sen. Ted Cruz (R-Texas) was asked by a pastor at a Texas presidential forum Sunday how individuals can pray for him and the final point in his third-pronged response hit home with the church crowd.
How can we pray for you and your family? Prestonwood Baptist Church pastor Jack Graham asked Cruz.
You know Id say three things: peace and wisdom, the Texas senator replied, But then also especially you pray for our girls. Our girls Caroline and Catherine are here somewhere.
As Cruzs family was spotted in the crowd and featured on the large screen, the audience reacted with a thunderous applause and collectively let out an audible ahh.
Cruz explained the toll his campaign has taken on his family.
They are seven and four, they are the joys of our life. But Ill tell you, the hardest part of this campaign is being on the road, he said. This week, Ive been in D.C., Iowa, Houston, California, New Hampshire, here, San Antonio then back to D.C.
So the girls drove up to be with us for a couple hours, Cruz continued. Two girls, seven and four, it is hard on them. So prayers that they know they are loved with all of our hearts and loved by God.

The problem is .... the time spent is gone
I'ne returned home from driving after a week .... and my 5 or 6 year old daughter's face had changed
My husband had a job “on the road” during the week. I was the everyday parent, and he was their special conquering hero on the weekends. You’re right that so much time with them was lost, but his absence made their hearts grow fonder, and the time he did spend with them is treasured. As 30-somethings now, they understand and appreciate his sacrifice.
Thanks for posting this.
You’re welcome!
I’ll be in agreement with you regarding that special prayer. Thank you.
I have been praying Isaiah 54:17 - “No weapon formed against you (AND I HAVE ADDED: and your family) shall prosper and every tongue that rises up against you is condemned already”.
BTTT
For later.
The best thing he could have said is “Don’t pray for me, pray for our country.”
Thank you SO MUCH for posting this link... I saw it in the other thread. JimRob was right, Cruz SLAMMED IT out of the park today.
Cruz is a good man.
Yes, he is a good man.
God bless Pastor Graham, Prestonwood Baptist, and Ted Cruz! I love so many things about Texas, and these three are up there in my list.
The RUMP would have said “dont pray for me..”I dont Bring God Into things”
Freegards!
Mikey, I love you and your “panther whizz” pics. dearly, but your TDS is really bumming me out.
CC
Your insanity is driving away those who love you. Is there no hope you will survive this awful TDS you are suffering?
+1
5 or 6 ... Shouldn’t you know, really
A child's face changes during childhood to "look" adult
When you see your child every day, you generally don't see a change ....
but go away for a week or so ... and it is obvious.
Parents that see their 17 year old go into the military know what I'm talking about ...
So too your college kid ...
It is what it is
