Donald Trump: I would have prevented 9/11
CNN ^ | 10/18/15 | Eric Bradner

Posted on 10/18/2015 8:46:12 AM PDT by jimbo123

Donald Trump says he's not blaming George W. Bush for 9/11, but he claims that if he'd been president, the attacks never would have happened.

In an appearance on "Fox News Sunday," the real estate mogul said that since he's "extremely, extremely tough on immigration" the attackers wouldn't have been in position to commandeer U.S. flights.

"So there's a good chance that those people would not have been in our country," Trump said.

He took another shot at Jeb Bush for claiming that Bush's brother, the 43rd president, kept the nation safe.

"I'm not blaming George Bush," Trump said. "But I don't want Jeb Bush to say, 'My brother kept us safe,' because September 11 was one of the worst days in the history of this country."

The only way to have stopped 9/11 was to have Bill Clinton in prison for the crimes he had committed as attorney general and governor of Arkansas preventing him from being president of the US and selling us out. The other 9/11/12 would also have been prevented as well as obama would be not elected.

Bush should apologize to the U.S. for kissing the Saudi King’s lips and ass.

I'd say both failed. Bush failed and the intelligence community failed.

Peter Bergen's report is typically breathless CNN bloviating, except it doesn't work as well in print. He says there was a large volume of intel indicating plans for an attack, while implying that this was a spike. In reality, we had been hearing about plans for all kinds of attacks long before the first WTC bombing in 1993, all through to the present. Al Qaeda is like every other terror operation - it spends a lot of time brain-storming. The 9/11 attacks were a shoestring operation needing very little coordination. Once the pilots were trained, they were ready to go. Racial profiling might have slowed them down, but these were guys with box-cutters, which were perfectly legal to bring on board planes at the time. The idea that Trump would have ended the Saudi (Qatari, Kuwaiti or whatever wealthy oil producer) visa program before 9/11 is typical Trump bluster. Like he's gonna start digging into the authentic-looking fake documents used by illegal aliens working on his properties.

Still, it would be interesting to have this guy as President. In terms of public personalities, it would be like having a cross between Morton Downey Jr and Andrew Dice Clay as president. He'd be endlessly quotable.

Congratulations Your comment is “Stupidity on Parade”

Donald Trump comes into office instead of W

While the previous president, Bill Clinton has been in office a plot has been in process for years and all the players are on the ground and getting ready to fly planes into buildings . Also during this time rules are in place making it difficult to share intelligence between law enforcement agencies.
Trump is now running things but no one knows the plot is in place or who the players are and 9 months after Trump is in in office they pull the trigger and attack.

So Trump ,who I guess is the Magic Rich Guy (not the Magic Negro) intuits all this and shuts it down ?

Trump is an ass Plain and Simple

How does a President keep America safe, while aiding and abetting tens of millions to enter the United States illegally during war time?

He doesn't.

>>>And Trump should also apologize for donating 100K to the corrupt Clinton Foundation, that funds terrorism<<<

Because he knew that at the time they funded Terrorism, if they even did so?

Have a link that factually states that the Clinton Foundation knowingly funds Terrorism?

I already know the are a crooked Charity that uses almost 90% of their Supporter Donations just to cover expenses, but that is a recent revelation...

Well, I have apologized on FR for Voting for Perot in 1992.

Why would you say that? Women love him and (some) Freepers want to be him.

Aesop’s fable about the jackass in the lion’s pelt comes to mind.

Once again the truth doesn’t fit the narrative, so CNN makes up for it in the Headline. I’m shocked...

The 9/11 terrorists were all here illegally. When a visa expires, they are illegal.

Trump is right - lax illegal immigration policy let the terrorists stay.

There was a magazine cover depicting a plane being flown into a building on either Popular Mechanics, or Popular Science...a long time ago.

That CNN report quotes the CIA IG directly. They has specifics on two of the attackers that they ignored. That seems to be a fact.

Here's more of the article at the link.

- - -

"The soon-to-be hijackers would not have been difficult to find in California if their names had been known to law enforcement. Under their real names, they rented an apartment, got driver's licenses, opened bank accounts, purchased a car and took flight lessons. Al-Mihdhar even listed his name in the local phone directory.

It was only on August 24, 2001, as a result of questions raised by a CIA officer on assignment at the FBI, that the two al Qaeda suspects were watch-listed and their names communicated to the bureau. Even then, the FBI sent out only a "routine" notice requesting an investigation of al-Mihdhar. Nothing substantive came of this request."

Watch listed but they don't do squat.

You’re joking, right? People keep saying that and his poll numbers go up.

Trump is right on all 3 points. It’s a very logical and coherent argument.

Jed is going to regret his comments to Trump....Bet the rent.

Jed Yeb! campaign is about to fall off the cliff into oblivion. He and Rubio are fighting for table scraps to stave off the inevitable.

“His main thrust with this line of statements seems to me to be keeping the Bush name attached to Jeb, which is a good idea, although his tactics aren’t necessarily the best route, but then again, he may be getting advice that leads him to believe this is a useful course “

Actually this whole issue brings up why Trump’s immigration policy is so important. Trump couldn’t have planned this better.

It's not Bush's fault that a bunch of low-level functionaries failed to bring someone in for questioning on time, any more than it is any mayor's fault that the police under him failed to apprehend a mentally-unbalanced man before he committed mass murder. It's the nature of living in a free country that cops aren't allowed to use draconian methods to bring in suspects.
