Correction: Liberals believe that EVERYBODY’S paychecks belong to the government, so that government can redistribute it at will.
Liberals see everything as static. They think they can simply raise taxes on the rich and the rich will simply roll over and pay. What the rich will do is move to a low tax nation and renounce their citizenship. The problem with socialism is that you eventually run out of other people’s money.

Progressives do not care if raising taxes creates no benefit. They only mean to punish the rich (who are not their friends).

We are in such bad shape financially that they could confiscate everything from the top 10% and it would not right the ship - only kill future revenue.
But then again, they don’t understand that and class warfare is a tactic that always works for the rats.

They seem to think wealthy are an infinite source and they can suckle from the wealthy whenever they need money for their pet projects.

the taxes always fall on the middle class, the working class...the class of people too "rich" to get scholarships and freebies from the govt but too poor to take vacations and have vacation homes.
its easier to go after us...we're the good citizens...the givers, not the takers...the ones who really do the work...the lion's share of whats good in this country..
and damn, we're honest...honest to the bone...

"They" understand perfectly well that class warfare always works for the Rats. Its worked so well for socialists / "progressives" in the past that their confidence is well earned.

Tax policy is legal extortion.
Progressive congress critters have been using tax law to extort campaign contributions for decades.
It is a carrot and stick approach.
Give me money and I will write exemptions to this new tax that will greatly benefit you. If you don’t; well, this new tax law will take money out of your pocket and put it in the pocket of some deserving poor person. We are going to get this money one way or another. Your contribution may buy you a little slack.
Corporate tax law works the same way.
It is not just the income of the “rich” that liberals want, some of the wealthiest people have relatively low income. It’s all that money that people have locked up in stocks & bonds and the middle earners have socked away in I.R.A.s, 401Ks etc they are after. Liberal/socialist/communist, all one and the same.
The left will never soak the rich. They are the rich.

Liberals have been calling for that for quite some time. Maximum wage for C.E.O.s, saying no C.E.O. should make 22 times what their average employee makes.
