North Korean Soldiers Assist Assad in the War Against the Syrian People.

7/20/2015 At 09:21 AM

Activists and eyewitnesses confirmed that 5 buses full of fully armed Korean soldiers were seen in the capital Damascus, heading towards Jobar and Eastern Ghouta.

It's not the first time Assad has used korean, not to mention the Shiite and Asian militias, fo fight in his side, Many media sources confirmed that korean soldiers from what is called Tshulima units has been assigned as Assad's personal details two years ago, after the large advance opposition forces achieved inside the capital Damascus.

Tshulima special unit has soldiers with very high training and was called that name after a mythical winged-horse named Tshulima.

The unit was placed in the most sensitive positions inside the presidential palace, and was responsible for protecting the secret places Assad has.

Korean military presence in Syria is not a new thing, in 1973, Hafez al-Assad a lot of ideas from former North Korean ruler Kim Il Sung, grandfather of current ruler Kim Jong-un, including the idea of the Vanguards of Baath, and the youth of Baath (a sort of military camps with a sole purpose, that is the deification of the leader.)

Since that time, Korean experts have been running all of Assad's sensitive military projects, and currently there are two air bases that are fully run by Korean pilots and technicians.

'Tshulima' must be an arabic pronunciation of a Korean word 'Cholima'(천리마.) Cholima is a word used frequently in N. Korean propaganda. For example, 'Cholima Movement' was a much trumpeted party-led drive to boost industial production in late 50's, similar to China's 'Great Leap Forward.' Apparently, this particular unit is located only in Syria. There does not seem to be Cholima unit back in N. Korea from which this particulasr contingent is from.

I suspect they are leased out for cash, goods or services. I doubt they are very good. They were just human wave cannonfodder with some modest infiltration skills during the Korean War, and the rigidity of North Korea doesn’t suggest any doctrinal changes.

Sounds like a win-win for both of them. Assad needs the soldiers and the Norks need the cash income.

They took a bus from North Korea to Syria? I’d like to see a movie about that.

Korean-Syrian version of the Varangian Guard. Assad cannot trust any Syrians to guard him.

I am beginning to wonder if N. Korea will send more of them, for more cash probably paid by Russians, Chinese, or Iranians. They undergo field training in China or Russia, and then are sent to Syria by sea or air. China would be happy to make this kind of arrangement.

No from Damascus to a front-line area in Syria.

I’m honestly surprised China hasn’t sent a significant expeditionary force, if only to make trained troops into veterans. They have a surplus of males, and don’t have to consider anyone’s sensibilities. It would seem to be a windfall for them, like some of the participants in the Spanish Civil War.

China may want to keep their focus on Asia. They face enemies from East, South, and West. It would be a useful exercise in long-range expedition, but committing too much resources may be counterproductive in the short term. However, since China add 8,000 Chinese troops for UN peacekeeping duty, things can change as time goes on.

There are reports they’ve already sent in special forces to kill all the Urgyurs, a Muslim ethnic group that has periodically bombed buses in China. Kill the ones who want to commit jihad, before they come back to China.

Plenty to eat, since they are stationed at Assad’s Presidential Palace,
and nice weather, too.

Dang it!

And here I wrote that the North Koreans were dogging it by not helping out.

Russians, Cubans, Iraqis, Iranians, North Koreans....

All they need is American university professors and they’ll have every jackass over there.
