Kurdish forces have carried out a wave of forced displacement and mass house demolitions - amounting to war crimes - in northern Syria, a rights group says.
A report by Amnesty International accuses the Popular Protection Units (YPG) of razing entire villages after capturing them from Islamic State (IS).
This appeared to be in retaliation for residents' perceived sympathies with or links to the jihadist group, it says.
The YPG has consistently denied accusations of forced displacements.
However, the YPG - a key ally of the US-led international coalition against IS - and its political parent the PYD have admitted to some "isolated incidents".
Coalition air strikes, as well as air drops of weapons and ammunition, have helped the militia to drive IS out of large parts of northern Syria this year.
The Amnesty report came as the US said it had dropped more than 45 tonnes of ammunition to rebels in north-western Syria.
Civilians 'caught in middle'
On Tuesday, Amnesty said its researchers had uncovered evidence of "alarming abuses" carried out by the YPG - the military wing of the Democratic Union Party (PYD) - in towns and villages controlled by the Kurdish Autonomous Administration in Hassakeh and Raqqa provinces.
Its report quoted one witness in the village of Husseiniya, in Hassakeh province, as saying: "They pulled us out of our homes and began burning the home... they brought the bulldozers... They demolished home after home until the entire village was destroyed."
Satellite images illustrated the scale of the demolitions in Husseiniya, Amnesty said. Of 225 buildings visible in June 2014, only 14 were still standing by June 2015.

Go Kurds.
Pound desert sand AI.
NOBODY in that war is innocent.
We need to withdraw.
No good can come of our involvement.
Send Amnesty International into ISIS-held territory so that the “concerned” members of AI may appreciate the situation.
Funny how AI never said much about ISIS. Or any of the other ‘rebels.’
De-ISILsafication
Not buying the propaganda until I see video. I believe nothing that spews from Amnesty International.
They have been stone silent through the slaughter of Christians and Yashidis in that area, so eff them.
“...The Amnesty report came as the US said it had dropped more than 45 tonnes of ammunition to rebels in north-western Syria....”

This article attempts to mislead in so many ways. For example, the 45-ton air-drop went ONLY to Arab Muslim militias. None of the air dropped resupply of munitions went to Kurds or Christians. As far as I’m concerned, the left-wing Amnesty International is working hand-in-glove with the Obama regime (and Turkey!) to protect ISIS as much as they can get away with.
Don’t displace... dispatch. It’s the only way to teach that the people must resist ISIS at any cost.
Sorry, war is hell.
I don’t blame the Kurds. Those homes are likely to be unlivable anyway midst all that warfare. Destroying the nonhabitable symbol of property takes these items off the table of conquest, and puts ISIS into a further state of disarray. We in the states could not dare to (openly) do this without the U.N. phonies starting to huff and puff.
We all know that these NGOs are really proxies for the CIA and western governments. Sorry if I take this with a grain of salt. Go KURDS! They’re p*ssing off the right people.
Go Kurds indeed. Send the ISIS baby butchers straight to hell. Do not pass go, do not collect 72 virgins.
SO I am on side of these Kurds
NOT PK Kurds of Turkey
Those guys are a****hole of Kurds
Well at least it doesn’t say they’re beheading anybody - and if they were it certainly would. Sometimes it is necessary to destroy the ville in order to save it.
Wasn’t Amnesty International quiet when people were losing their heads?
We (this country) do not know what we are doing there. Anywhere around there for that matter, especially under a Muslim President.
For me to believe that retribution, razing, killing, ravaging is or has occurred under Kurd rebels retaking of ISIS/ISIL-captured villages I would have to suspend all disbelief in thinking ISIS/ISIL left anything to ravage, raze, rape and/or pillage.
We should not be there. We should be closing our own borders, tracking down immigrating terrorists and protecting this country on the home front - not risking our blood and treasure amidst fighting Muslims.
Just disinfecting after the Roaches were chased out...
Also helps find booby-traps safely, or moreso...
JMHO
I am sure the BBC is beating on the door of Amnesty International as we speak (/s)
The BBC would fit right in with the US MSM.
I can’t say I am bothered. Winner takes the spoils. I hope the women and children are not those left behind after their men high-tailed it to Europe.
