GRESHAM, Ore. Dexter McCarty Middle School student Alan Holmes understands that his freedom is intricately tied to those who fought and died defending the United States of America.
His older brother joined the U.S. Marines when he was 19 years old and served a tour in Iraq, Fox 12 reports.
But school officials apparently dont share Holmes understanding or patriotic spirit, and recently forced the eighth-grader to change his shirt that depicted a traditional soldier memorial or face in-school suspension.
Holmes choose the latter.
The principal, I asked him, is this considered a suspension? He said yes Ill see you tomorrow and I left, Holmes told KATU.

If this kid was wearing an ISIS t-shirt, he’d be celebrated.
Related to Boy George?
Who knows? Maybe ;)
Where do they find these idiot administrators? They have long ago ceased to apply logic, only dogma.
the librarian complained and the administrator boinking her made the suspension
IMHO
There should be dress codes.
No T-Shirts with stuff on them.
Just solid color collared shirts.
Promise the fools a paid up pension at 55 and they will kill their own mother and never blink an eye.
John George huh? Wonder where he is from?
Don’t want to “offend” any of the foreign freeloaders living off of the backs of the U.S. taxpayers, don’t you know. No Social Security increase this year for AMERICAN Social Security recipients. Da gubmint needs the money to support the illegal alien invaders. Those bass turds are some “high maintenance’ type “immigrants”.
I’m sure this kid will get a whitehouse invite & cair will defend him..../s
From a Georgia John?
I have NEVER heard of anything so stupid, in my life....
What kind of simpletons are we got around our children now days?
Looks like a Juan Jorje
I saw the T-Shirt. It’s not threatening in anyway. The design is mostly typography on a camo-olive background.
Yes, there is a gun depicted, but standing upright, and with a Soldier’s helmet atop the bayonett. Lions & Tigers & Guns, Oh My!!!
I find most principals with solid backgrounds have their qualifications and history posted somewhere on the Internet. Some don’t want us to know. Some have very weak qualifications. I’ve known too many.
He is not the only idiot. There is Principal Aiddy Phomvisay in Iowa. Students were told to wear specific colors for spirit day at school. For juniors it was white. Yet one student who posted a picture of himself dressed in white on the Internet was accused of being a racist by Aiddy and suspended. I saw the photo and could see nothing racist about it. It wasn’t a KKK outfit or anything remotely close. Last I heard crazy Aiddy is still principal of Marshalltown High.
This cr** has got to stop.
