A great video from Meet the Press yesterday where Chuck Todd and the Panel agree that Ted Cruz has positioned himself better than anyone else with a great organization and as an articulate voice that can tap into the so-called ‘outsiders’:
Todd’s nightly prayer...”Please God...let me be right...just once.”
Cruz is positioned well assuming Trump implodes.
I am having a harder and harder time seeing that happening at this point.
Short of a major shakeup Trump will win easily at this point.
Nothing short of Trump being caught in bed with a boy, or criminal charges being filed against him will stop him now, that I can see.

He’s a real longshot on betting odds (25/1 for the nom, 50/1 for Nov).
Believers can lay down 10 grand on each & pad their IRA pretty nicely.
or if Trump stays at 25% against just one or two competitors. There's another 75% waiting for someone and a pretty big contingent of Republicans who at least claim they won't voter for Trump in the primaries.

If Trump were to win the GOP nomination would he gain Cruz supporters if he promised his first nomination to the SCOTUS would be Cruz?
So the GOPe/media couldn’t get one of their own in so now they’re using Cruz to unseat Trump.
I could be much happier about this if I didn’t know it was another media ploy to knock out Trump. If they succeed, Cruz will be trampled by GOPe, media, and the left. I know everyone here thinks that Reagan got elected on conservative principles but that was a different time.
The ONLY one who can hold them off is Trump. There is no post-Trump conservative.

I don't understand how a candidate who consistently polls in the mid single digits unseats anybody.

I've seen several stories last few days how Cruz's time is here. Big play when Cruz said Trump won't stay (tho Trump defended Cruz on that) and the dark horse pulls to the lead crap.
I love Cruz but not as a Trump weapon. If Trump drops out, I'll probably go to Cruz or Carson. I thin Carson is better and offending the media then being able to defend his views, we'll see.
This is the same Chuck Todd who with his media partners said Trump will never get in. Never file. Never stay. Will implode. Will implode again. Again. And again. Carson is in the lead. Kasich is moving up. Fiorina is soaring. Carson is soaring again. Jeb has a lot of money. Rubio is soaring. Christie is soaring. And on, and on, and on.....

Trump has that remarkable quality that Reagan had, of being able to talk to the nation over the head of the media and the powers that be. He also has the funding and the name recognition. The importance of the latter is that the media can't define him to the masses the way they did, as an example, to Palin. For Cruz, they'd create a dorky SNL character in glasses who uttered silly things in a squeaky voice, and for America, that would be Ted Cruz. They can't do that to Trump, everyone knows him from years of TV.
I do think Cruz has a slim chance of prevailing, but he would not want to be a front runner until very late in the game, at a point in time when he has a chance to define himself. I think it far more likely that Trump survives the process and the GOPe gauntlet, and if he does, Cruz's path to the presidency is much more likely by hitching himself to Trump as VP or in some other capacity than it is by running on his own.
They don't have the slightest intention of allowing Cruz to be the candidate. They just want to remove the only candidate who really can win and stop these SOBs.
Also don’t forget his vote, along with everyone but my Senator Tom Cotton, on the Corker Bill for the Iran Deal.
