FULL TITLE: BOOM ! Trump Dominates Amid Republican Primary Voters CBS Poll: Trump Is The Most Electable Candidate
CBS has another National Poll reflecting Donald Trump with a substantive lead over the entire field of GOP candidates (Full Poll pdf below). However, beyond the leading support numbers Republican Primary Voters were asked this question:
Q17. Regardless of how you intend to vote in 2016, which one of these Republican presidential candidates do you think has the best chance of winning the general election in November 2016?
( FULL POLL DATA ) ( FULL POLL DATA )
BOOM !! That essential and critical question/answer destroys the GOPe (establishment) talking point of electability. By a stunning margin the Republican Primary Voter view Donald Trump as the best candidate to win in 2016. Stick that in your pipe George Will and Karl Rove!
The more general question of who do you support in the primary reveals a rather interesting dynamic when contrast against the question above.
Less people think Ben Carson can win in November of 2016 than currently support him in the primary. (This shows a VERY weak quishy support base) More people think Rubio, Bush and Fiorina could win in November 2016 than currently support them in the primary. (The Hold Your Nose Coalition) However, a significant number think Donald Trump is uniquely positioned to win in the general election November 16, BEYOND their primary support. Heres the customary who do you support question responses:

How do I pick a candidate? How can anyone tell what will be the reality vs the rhetoric? I look for the candidate that makes the media and the elites scream bloody hell the loudest. That’s my guy, or gal. I want the person who will cause maximum disruption of all the cozy elites on the Left and Right. Based on the dB level, that would be Trump.
LOL you people crack me up with your little fantasy that you can shame me into compliance.
How very liberal of you.
Funny that’s how I feel about the rabid Cruz supporters.
As is your choice.
Yet I’m not on every thread putting Cruz down.
I was responding to a poster that accused me of messing up the poll (which I took when they called)
I supported Cruz in the poll, but answered I thought that Trump would be the eventual winner to the question of “regardless of who you support, who do you think will be the eventual winner”.
So tell me little fella, does one thread denote “Every” in your little world?
It’s October.
Right now, Trump is the only one with a decent immigration platform. The rest suck, and have little chance to overtake him on that issue.
Well I can’t argue with this logic, especially if you would then vote for Trump in the primary! I support Trump but would vote Cruz if he makes it to the primary.
Shaming you?
How is that? I have no idea who you are supporting. I assume it is probably Bush, but I have no way of knowing.
Sheesh.
Ha I remember everything and know everyone by their names here. If you did, you would even remember I’m not a fella.
The problem is cc that you don’t make rational sense or valid arguments to back up your ‘my way or the highway’ blurbs. As for ‘vetting’ Trump. Sure— he’s a flawed mixed bag but there’s a whole lot more upside vs. downside with him plus he’s probably our best chance to win in 2016. That’s my shrug on it.
I don't ordinarilly take poll calls because 9 times out of 10, they're from the "truth Coalition of East Overshoe Nebraska and we want to ask you about ... "

Whatever.
I’m not ashamed of having principles and Trump forever lost any chance of me ever voting for him on the day he called Pam Geller an obnoxious blowhard who baited muslims into attacking her to get attention and make money.
He was schooling himself at the time ... I’m watching growth, now
The bigger pic is that Trump is our best shot at not submitting to sharia.
I think Eisenhower is the only President to have never been elected to an office or been part of the government like Hoover who was Secretary of something or other..
That means Trump will be the first to have never been in military or government office.
Maybe the problem that the House has in electing a Speaker will wake the GOPe that we are fed up with their BS.
That’s fine, we can get him elected w/o you.
Can’t disagree with you on that one. When he talks about ‘funding women’s issues’ he loses me on that one too. He’s top shelf though on immigration, economy, military and such.
Would love for Ted to win but he’s a longshot now.
Let’s say Linda’s seed Graham got the nomination-—(gosh would we ALL hate that) but I would still vote for him in 2016 otherwise the far worse DemoRat gets another vote. But vote or not— its your choice.
He's got some overwhelming positives as a candidate, but if he wins, it's likely to bite conservatives in the butt to one degree or another.
