Three “lost souls” stand accused of the seemingly random deaths of two people in the Bay Area, a well-known tantric massage instructor gunned down on a Marin County hiking trail Monday evening and a Canadian backpacker shot to death in San Francisco’s Golden Gate Park two days before.
Morrison Haze Lampley, 23, Sean Michael Angold, 24, and Lila Scott Alligood, 18, were arrested in Portland, Ore., Wednesday after leading investigators on an interstate manhunt following the discovery of the body of Steve Carter, 67, on a popular trail northwest of Fairfax on Monday.
“It appears that we have three people that all identify as lost souls,” Marin County Sheriff spokesman Lt. Doug Pittman said. “We’re trying to identify exactly what their motive was, what their state of mind (was). All of this will come into play in the prosecution.”
On Thursday night, San Francisco police made the stunning announcement that the threesome were prime suspects in the death of 23-year-old Audrey Carey of Quebec, who was found in Golden Gate Park Saturday morning from a gunshot wound and blunt force trauma.
Two days later, Carter, a prominent tantra teacher and massage therapist, was shot multiple times while hiking near Fairfax. He was still clutching the leash of his Doberman Pinscher, Coco, who was shot in the head and chest, but survived.
Missing was his 2003 Volkswagen, which investigators tracked to Portland using a GPS device in the car. The suspects were arrested Thursday as they left a community dining hall in the southeast part of Portland.
The three were allegedly still in possession of the handgun believed to have been used to shoot Carter and witnesses said they were attempting to sell his car.

The way I read it is that the killers THEMSELVES identify as “lost souls”, like Bruce Jenner identifies as a woman. Just a new “gender” classification.
Best let God handle the souls by expediting their meeting with Him.
