The Oklahoma Department of Corrections may have used the wrong drug for the execution of Charles Warner that occurred last January
"I was not aware nor was anyone in my office aware of the possibility until the day of Richard Glossip's scheduled execution," Fallin said

Oklahoma's difficulties began in April 2014, when Clayton Lockett died gasping for air, writhing on the table. After the botched execution, Fallin ordered a full review of the state's procedures, which took five months to complete. The state adopted a new protocol in September 2014.

The Associated Press reported that Warner "showed no physical signs of distress" after the drugs were administered although he did say, "My body is on fire."
Fallin said that the pharmacist who provided the drug had assured the DOC that the drugs are medically interchangeable. But her critics, note that potassium acetate is not officially part of the State's protocol

I just got out of the hospital myself, serious heart attack with a side order of Drowning-on-dry-land Pulmonary Edema in the Cath lab.
I managed to pop open my Femoral vein (not artery) sitting up for lunch in bed. I felt suddenly like I was in a warm bath. I looked under the covers and I could see (easily) a pint of blood and more coming out. I direct pressured it and got it under control. I called out to the ICU nurse when he came past again. "Sorry, I know you're busy, but when you get a minute- I'm bleeding out here".
Apart from that really woozy, bone-chilled feeling you get when you lose too much blood, it was utterly painless. We were laughing about it while he was mopping it up with big clumps of totally-soaked towels. We both shared the same dark sense of humor.
Point being, once you're beyond the pain, it doesn't matter how it happens. You could keep him anesthetized and shoot him to death with BB guns over the span of a couple of weeks. Once I'm under, I don't know and I don't care what they're doing.
Why don’t they just use what California is using for assisted suicides. Apparently putting people to death in the land of fruits and nuts is not a problem...
He claimed to have botched them on purpose. I’m amazed that he was accepted into the army at his age and that he was able to get on the job training as a hangman. I suppose when you’re at war, you take what volunteers you get because I wouldn’t think there would that many volunteering for the job.
Whoops. Bring him back to life and kill him the correct way.
The authorities just need to obtain heroin out of seized evidence (that is no longer needed and to be destroyed) and compound it up into some lethal juice for use on death row.
Takes care of two problems and is environmentally “friendly.”
With the length of time involved, I have to assume that Governor Fallin did it on purpose. Why? Because she could.
