WASHINGTON Representative Kevin McCarthy on Thursday abruptly took himself out of the race to succeed John A. Boehner as speaker, apparently undone by the same forces that drove Mr. Boehner to resign.

Her hand just jumped out of the image...Seems quite appropriate here.
Not sure if she's the staff hooker or his girl friend but this is what DC is peppered with nowadays.
Both Jones and Ellmers are from NC. Jones is a bit of a loose cannon and hated by leadership. He just might have spooked McCarthy. And of course if McCarthy is diddling a Congresswoman no doubt he has been around the track with an intern or two. Where there’s smoke, there’s fire.
Dick Cheney for Speaker
This post screams for a “like” button.
Back in 2000 when the Gore/Bush election dragged on counting chads, proto-Tea party types surrounded the vice president's residence and shouted "Get out of Cheney's house!"
Thank goodness. He didn’t even have the job yet to prove he was unfit for it.
Where does the GOP find these morons? Who’s nephew is he? Who’s cousin. Someone without the brains to even know what not to say isn’t qualified for the job, period.
Cheney endorsed McCarthy, IIRC.
Different Charles Johnson. LGF has gone radical, radical left/pro muzz.
ROTFLMAO!!!
Or at least one part of her has.
I don’t care how many times I see that, I can’t help lolling out loud.
NEXT!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
SO, McCarthy withdraws and Beohner calls off the vote. LOL. Guess Boehner thought his clone would be carrying out his legacy. Now Boehner might stay?
I agree, definitely not dried up.
I would say her window* is still 3/4 open.
*Window: the period of time that a person is sexually attractive to the opposite sex.
The Window of Do-ability is different in duration from person to person.
Some people’s Window lasts for decades while for some it is measured in just a few years.
His primary win in 2010 for the US House against Vaughn Ward was accomplished by a huge push by dope-smoking, Ron Paul fruitcakes. The PDS was strong with that bunch, as Palin had endorsed Ward in the race.
Just like Rubio, Labrador is a slick-talking fake conservative. He knows just the right lingo the get the votes of religious fruitcakes (abortion), the votes of dope-smoking libertarian fruitcakes (war on drugs; states' rights; etc.); all the while back-slapping with the GOP-e behind the scenes, selling out US citizens.
The Founders probably envisioned a weak, non-partisan Speaker like Britain had. With the real powers residing in the Majority Leader.
OTOH the Founders were the ones who set up the strong Speakership, so who knows?
I think it can be safely said they did not envision a strong Speaker from outside the House however. That’s not human nature and they were deeply knowledgeable of human nature.
I like your pick. I also like Mark Levin. And Sarah Palin. This seems to truly turning out to be the year of the outsider. Many of the conservatives currently in Congress would not be there if it weren’t for Governor Palin!
