This was a sad and excruciating way to die.
At least the family has closure now.
God be with them.

Sad...some goofy 18 year old that thought he was invincible. I grieve for his family and the loss of positive contributions he could have made.

This reminds me of the female lead character in ‘Gremlins’ whose father went missing on Christmas and was found only when they lit a fire in the fireplace. Dad was stuck and dead in the chimney dressed in a Santa suit.

The teen years seem like the most dangerous.
I am glad I made it through those years without death or serious injury. We did a ton of stupid stff.

This is the 2nd or 3rd case of death in a chimney from the last few decades that I have read about.

Yes. It is good that the family now knows what happened.
I have a nephew missing for two and a half years now, who will likely never be found. (rafting accident) It makes it very challenging to accept that he is gone. But at least we know the circumstances, unlike this family.

The chimney was located behind a large piece of furniture, "so there was no reason to look in the fireplace,"Uhhh...apparently, there was.

I’m convinced that it was only God’s grace that kept me above room temperature on several occasions of my misspent teen years.

some goofy 18 year old that thought he was invincibleThat seems to come with being 18, for some reason.

God! What a horrible way to die. Terrible if it happens on the way down... but at least on the way up, you'd have a supply of cookies.

This is the 2nd or 3rd case of death in a chimney from the last few decades that I have read about. Then it sounds like we need federal chimney legislation. : )

Oh gosh, that’s just horrible! I just couldn’t imagine what went through his mind as time passed and...oh, Lord.

She described Joshua as a highly intelligent, kind creative person and a musician. This must be the white version of "aspiring rapper".
