I ordered my broker to buy pipeline stocks. He said, “Are you sure? They’re really beaten down.” Well, duh! If we get a Republican administration and they get the EPA under control (and the economy doesn’t tank) then pipelines and coal will soar. (It’s 47 times cheaper to send oil down a pipeline than to ship it by rail. And, coal is still cheaper to use than oil.)

Your average moron on the left has no idea most electric power plants are coal burning. Dopes. They think electricity just magically comes from that outlet thingy in the wall.

Well, this is interesting. The 47 times figure came from an industry article I read years ago. I found plenty of recent articles that said pipelines were cheaper, but nobody gave a figure, which I find odd. One article was written to favor rail transport. But recently the government has declared that all rail vehicles must, essentially, be puncture and accident proof. This will cost billions and every current rail car is obsoleted, so rail costs will go even higher. I suspect that rail cars, which are much riskier, benefit from superior lobbying.

Below is a link to the gas and oil pipeline maps, putting the lie to the fact that we don’t have more room for pipelines.

There was an article not too long ago about how one of the big pro-Democrat financiers (Soros or Buffett, I think) was investing back into coal.

So this is how systematic crony capitalism works. A political leader like Deblasio uses his power to force divestment in an industry. Which lowers stock prices.

That politician’s patron(s) then get to buy up the stock on the cheap.

The people who lose are those who were forced (say being vested in a pension plan) to divest. Any anyone who sees the stock prices drop without understanding what’s really going on.

If there is a coal fired power plant, sending electricity to NYC, it divert the power to the grid and sell it elsewhere. See if NYC can survive without power.
