New [week old] poll shows Trump widening lead after CNN debate (Trump 33% Carson 13%)

A new poll conducted by Zogby Analytics after last week’s Republican presidential debate on CNN shows Donald Trump leading Dr. Ben Carson by 20 points.

According to the survey, conducted September 18-19, made up of 405 likely Republican primary/caucus voters nationwide, Trump garnered the support of 33 percent, which is an increase of 2 percentage points since Zogby’s previous poll. Dr. Ben Carson remains in second place, but dropped 3 points to 13 percent.

Former Florida Governor Jeb Bush’s support stayed flat at 9 percent, while support for former Hewlett Packard CEO Carly Fiorina has grown from 2 percent to 7 percent.

The recent Zogby poll is in contrast to a post-debate CNN/ORC poll showing Trump losing support, but still maintaining the top spot in the Republican field. In that survey, Trump garnered 24 percent support, down 8 points from earlier in September. Fiorina skyrocketed from just 3 percent earlier in the month to second place at 15 percent in the CNN/ORC poll. Dr. Ben Carson stands at third place in that poll with 14 percent support among Republicans and Republican-leaning independents.

The latest Zogby poll has a margin or error of 5 points. The CNN/ORC poll has a margin of error of 3 points.

Look at the Yuuuuge lead that Trump has over everyone else.

It's 'too good' for Trump so Rooooters hardly ever mentions it. LoL. Thousands upon thousands get polled in this one. Trump at 36.8% after two days past the last debate. :-)

I believe Trump's lead is already close to vertical, but the media paid pollsters don't like it. So it's time to interject Me-GYN Kelly type biases.

By the way, good analysis. The state-run media is doing everything they can to destroy Trump. He resonates with the grassroots, and the leftists cannot abide that. They destroy anyone with grassroots appeal.

But they especially hate him because he is moving the debate to what used to be considered mainstream American thought (pro business, pro national security, pro border control, pro American culture). The left has successfully destroyed all those basic American traditions by casting them as extreme.

Trump is single-handedly shifting the debate back to what used to be the center, and they hate him for that.

Don’t know and have not seen any statement by Carson on the subject. He says he grew up a
democrat, switched to republican in the 80s after listening to Reagan. Then went Independent
some 15-20 years ago after getting a “sour taste” watching Republicans who had their own
personal foibles impeach President Clinton over an extramarital affair. Then made his
switch back to Republican about an year ago in prepreration to seeking the GOP nomination.
