With Speaker John Boehners (R-Ohio) job in doubt, House conservatives have been holding internal talks about a new leadership coalition that could include Majority Leader Kevin McCarthy (R-Calif.) as Speaker and more conservative members occupying lower rungs on the leadership ladder.

No conservative will get the job.
FYI - read my response to my own last post and you will find out what's happening as we speak!
For various reasons- mainly the ease incumbents get reelected- the caucus is only about 40% conservative or conservative-leaning.
The Leadership will have to reflect that, especially the Speaker.
You mention Jordan in a reply, he would certainly be a good Leadership pick. Several of the HFC members would be: knowledgeable in the ways of the House, with some political power of their own and very competent conservative politicians.
I believe it doubtful that any could or would compromise enough with the RINOs to win the Speakership though.
If it is McCarthy, I would like to see him put Tom McClintock, a real CA Conservative in a leadership role. This would prove his Conservative status. Too many GOP from CA are for Illegal Amnesty because of big Farm support.
I saw several RINO Reps kissing up to Weeper, on CNN.
A few conservatives actually called him out.
I was surprised at Wolf for using the conservative Rep’s talking points, against the RINO Reps who praised the outgoing Weeper.
We shall see.
Who becomes Speaker, who votes against that person, who supports, who gets to become part of the leadership and if there are any reassignments of committee spots and if there are any new heads of those committees.
Those people are our enemies in Congress and they've already sold out to DC corruption - no matter how nice they are, no matter if they are your Rep. and you "really like them." if they recently won their seats with strong TEA Party support - doesn't matter one whit, they won't be getting those seats without cesspool money to back them and they are NO FRIENDS OF OURS!
They are already sold out!!!
Agree 100%.
But, we still have to fight for what’s right - a principled conservative, like Levin says - or we can blame ourselves.
We need to start a list of Reps who will support the conservative, and one for those who support McCarthy/RINO.
We need to keep thread posted/updated and contact those who are trying to go full RINO and support the conservatives.
Yeah, they aim at themselves and hit us.
Or simply fire away at anything conservative in sight.
Either way the same result.
Great ! Replace the Weeping Boner with the guy who colluded with CA Democrats to sacrifice GOP districts to save his seat.
REPLACE THE ENTIRE LEADERSHIP !
I see three RINO weasels. Where are the Conservatives ?
McCarthy is not in the middle. He is on the far left of the party spectrum. If they can't put a true conservative in the Speaker position, then it has to be someone in the middle.
You mention Jordan in a reply, he would certainly be a good Leadership pick. Maybe or maybe not. No McCarthy under any circumstances. Would the moderates demand McCarthy or else? Why are the conservatives the ones who must compromise? We had a pedophile and now a drunk as Speaker. Surely we can do better.
Whoever- whether conservative, RINO, moderate or Rastafarian- is Speaker will have to compromise.
Boehner tried not compromising and he’s leaving a failed man.
The idea that Boehner's deputy becomes the next Speaker would mean the GOPe still does not understand the anger and frustration most Reps feel with the current House and Senate leadership. We need a whole new leadership team. Boehner, McCarthy, and Scalise must go and be replaced by an entire new team.
That’s a fair point.
The Speaker’s views however don’t technically matter (though they do) because his job is not to get his way but to get the caucus’s way.
The real job of the Speaker is to get his members re-elected. Not as cynical as it sounds, doing what the voters want gets them re-elected in a perfect world.
When two thirds of GOP voters believe the leadership has betrayed them, that is the result of not doing what the voters want.
Just bear in mind the Speaker works for and is elected by the whole caucus, including the RINOs.
According to the Great Mark Levin... me thinks not so. Kevin as nothing more than a Cantor clone.
I don’t think so.
We’ll agree to disagree.
Don’t know a lot about him... what’s his cred?
