Damascus (AFP) - Russia and the United States have reached a "tacit agreement" on ending Syria's bloody crisis, a senior adviser to Syrian President Bashar al-Assad has said.

The end result is the same for the Christians. Putin win for Assad means they are safe from the Free Syrian army Islamists. For now anyway. Clearly, the Obama was not on the Christians side in Syria.
I’m not so sure. When I attended a talk at Voice of the Martyrs HQ a couple years ago, it featured a leader of the Iranian underground church (based out of London). He mentioned that they had lost 8 operatives in Iran in the preceding year or so to martyrdom at the hands of government/Islamic “security forces”, and there were another half dozen or so suspicious deaths where nothing could be proven. (Obviously, the house church movement can’t ask for clarification from the Iranian government in such matters!)
While the United States has called for Assad's ouster for more than four years, Secretary of State John Kerry said last week that "it doesn't have to be on day one or month one or whatever."
The Russians have been saying, publicly, that the are going to Syria to kill “Obama’s Terrorists”.
As soon as they start actually start killing them, we get a “Tacit Peace Deal”?
While I would agree with what you said about Iran's behavior toward Christians SO FAR, I absolutely DO think that they are AT LEAST as nuts as the Wahhabists. Remember, they believe in the 12th Imam, and that the only way to bring about his coming is by plunging the world into war. When they nuke (or try to) us and Israel, I'd like you to tell me about their level of sanity.

The Iranian Christians are long time populations of Armenians and Assyrians.
I in no way implied Iran is a state with freedom of religion. I only said compared to Saudi Arabia or what the Sunni Arab rebels are in Syria and Iraq, Iran is better for Christians.

Well, two thoughts, first, they have had a presence there since at least 1971. Second, if it is not Assad and his Russian ally, it WILL be the jihadis.
Which of those two should get Syria? Or do you see someone else who should have it? I see no one else in line.
If you can stop Iran and keep the Christians secure do it. Right now the problem is Sunni Wahhabists. Iran has never treated Christians the way the Sunnis have in Libya (remember the mass beheadings on the beach) and in Syria and Iraq.

Good point. Merkel was probably doing the math. If the Russian bomb the Syrians half as hard as they bombed Berlin how many millions of Syrians will come to Germany in the next few weeks? Turkey's leader probably is pondering the fact his is now sandwiched in by Russia in Syria and in the caucuses and now maybe in Iran and Iraq and the Kurds he is fighting are old Soviet clients (we love the Kurds but forget almost all of them are Marxist guerrilla forces).
With CIC 0dunga, I do think America would love in any fight against the Russians. They have the will. We have total chaos led by feminists and homosexuals.
