Fox’s Roger Ailes to Sit Down with Donald Trump to Discuss Coverage
Mediaite ^ | September 24th, 2015 | Alex Griswold

Posted on 09/24/2015 11:03:59 AM PDT by monkapotamus

Only a day after Donald Trump announced that he was boycotting Fox News— and after Fox News announced they had cancelled him first– the network has announced that they will enter talks with Trump to discuss his concerns.

Below is the full statement, provided to Mediaite by a Fox News spokesperson:

Fox News Chairman & CEO Roger Ailes and Donald Trump spoke this morning and plan to have a meeting next week to discuss their differences of opinion regarding Fox’s coverage of Mr. Trump’s presidential campaign. Ailes will be joined by senior Fox editorial executives. Mr. Trump believes he has been treated unfairly in certain instances. FOX News has held every candidate in this race to the highest journalistic standards throughout our coverage. We believe a candid meeting about our differences is required and that any misunderstandings can be handled without compromising those standards.

Yup. He’ll still get my support though. I trust him to a point. Trump I don’t. History made the reasons why clear.

Yes, Trump is slipping so badly in the polls that Ailes has to crawl to him for a meeting. LOL!

Thanks, donna, but I think those links are for viewing clips only...which is still good to know.

Got to pay somebody to get HD quality OAN live news broadcasts.

To repeat: I’m blown away by every alleged conservative who is not screaming for Cruz to adopt Trump’s vicious and cruel and SUCCESSFUL tactics against his greatest enemy now: the media.

National Review fire the head Republican of their Republican propaganda rag? Not gonna happen. NR gave up it’s conservative bone-fides long ago, now it’s just another Republican Party mouth piece.

Exactly like Fox News.

“We watch the debates together and she noticed the lack of substance from Trump.”

Did you notice any substance in the questions/smears he had a minute to refute? He was asked one question on foreign policy which could not have been even set up to answer in one minute.

From day one here I have advocated the 80% rule contrary to accusations of purity. One guy I know of on that candidate list hits it. So far Trump says words. We like many of those words. But they are words spoken by a pol in the heat of an election run.

Meaningless.

Trump can prove himself. I hope he does.

Ronnie was indeed far from perfect. But he’s the best metric I can think of.

Trump’s “contribution” as you put it has been to show us
( the vulgarians) how media and GOPe are desperately trying to take out a candidate and replace him with Bush.
Last debate was a 3 hr attack on Trump on many fronts.
Suggest you go to theconservativetreehouse.com to look at the game plan.

[Affect is a key part of the process of an organism's interaction with stimuli. The word also refers sometimes to affect display, which is "a facial, vocal, or gestural behavior that serves as an indicator of affect"]

I don't believe he was making fun of her looks. He was talking about her “affect”. Judy Judy sometimes talks about "affect" with her guilty verdicts.

Criminals look shifty. Carly looks cold and mean.

Harcourt!!!

“However, let’s not forget that Reagan wasn’t exactly flawless either - while we’re on the subject of immigration, recall that he effectively granted amnesty to illegals in 1986 (and when challenged by members of his own party, he said that he couldn’t see what the big deal is).”

I) worked for Reagan on 2 elections, then at the Fox Tower in Century City right after he retired.

2 things.

If the amnesty bill had been enforced, we wouldn’t have this illegal problem. The whores in both parties ignored it 100% fron day one. Yes, it was a mistake. He underestimated EVIL men.

2)Reagan said the amnesty was the worst mistake he made as POTUS.

I think we're on the same page.

Trump can prove himself. I hope he does.

Agreed, though I'm not sure that the highest office of the land is the best laboratory for upstart political figures to first prove themselves.

If Trump at least had some kind of track record funding and advocating the political positions that he now claims to espouse (as Ross Perot did - i.e. he lobbied for a balanced budget amendment long before he ran with it as a Presidential candidate), I'd be much more comfortable with him. In fact, Trump has never used his wealth and fame to advocate border security until now, if anything, he's been on the wrong side of the issue quite recently.

Operation Hummingjob has no guarantees that it will in fact work. Many media people are spitting and clawing and doing all they can to save their careers and their positions of “power” with this plan.

I like Trump, but his attacks on press commentators and other candidates are a big turn-off and make him look like a juvenile.

WRONG.

Trump's willingness to take the fight to the enemedia is just one of many reasons why he is at the top of the polls and has more public support than any other candidate. He is fearless, and he is holding the puerile talking heads accountable for what they say, instead of 'turning the other cheek'. America is tired of the GOPe-RINO unintelligentsia forcing their opinions and candidates on us.

What the media is going to learn one way or the other, is that "you don't mess with the bull, unless you want to get the horns!"

As our Esteemed Founder would say,

Go Trump GO!! :)

His polling negatives are already very high and will prevent him from winning IMO. I like Trump, but his attacks on press commentators and other candidates are a big turn-off and make him look like a juvenile.

W. Bush’s silence while he was carpet bombed by the MSM led to the GOP looking like a doormat. That in turn directly lead to Obama.

We need a brawler to beat the rampaging Dems. Trump isn’t perfect but he is waht we need: somebody to break the beltway cartel. The other issues can be delt with later.

As the front runner, Trump is aware that he's going to take most of the arrows. He acts like it bothers him, but that's his shtick.

He even stirs up trouble when things get quiet, just to keep it lively.

I'm not saying Murdoch isn't trying to get rid of Trump. Trump knows he's fighting the GOPe and the media...and that includes Fox and Murdoch.

I have thought from the beginning of his campaign, that Trump's using an awfully lot of ole Brer Rabbit as a role model.

Long story, short...I think Trump's playing Brer Fox like a Stradivarius.

And like the pig we were warned to not wrestle...Trump's having the time of his life.

If the amnesty bill had been enforced, we wouldn’t have this illegal problem.

Most of the current advocates of "immigration reform" promise us that amnesty will just be a one-time deal, that once the current crop are forgiven, the border will be secure and there will be no future amnesties. That's what was promised in 1986, and that isn't how things worked out then. The situation is far worse now because of the sheer volume of illegals.

Reagan said the amnesty was the worst mistake he made as POTUS

If he indeed said this, I'm pleased to hear it. One of Reagan's strengths was a willingness to admit that he made mistakes, as opposed to sticking to the wrong side of an issue out of stubbornness and vanity.
