Last night, Marco Rubio was interviewed on the Special Report with Bret Baier. Some of his comments were on the money, some leave me wondering, "Just who is this guy?" See the entire (short) interview at: http://www.foxnews.com/on-air/special-report-bret-baier/videos#p/86927/v/4501976564001

Rubio went off on a tangent over immigration. At the time, there were articles that suggested he had been persuaded by a member of his family into being influenced by his family's immigrant status, into feeling a sense of duty to his origins, rather than to the people who took them in.

I will not pretend that I do not think that a seriously wrong emphasis. Obviously, America would degenerate into chaos, if a large number put a mistaken loyalty to their diverse origins ahead of their duty to the continuity of America, her culture, etc..

Yet recognizing Rubio's obvious talents, and strength as a champion of our economic system, I urged that a candid approach, rather than just blanket rejection, be applied, in dealing with the aberration in Rubio's position; calling for frank discussion with Rubio in the December, 2012 feature at my Conservative Intelligence Center (Whither American Conservatism.) I still feel that we should reach out to Rubio, making it clear that there is no way we can accept his stand on immigration--if it is still his stand--but explaining why in a firm but courteous manner.

There well may be a "new American century," but if just the right combination combined with determination doesn't come together next year that new American Century is likely to be of the Imperial sort with America taking on the role of a post-Republic Empire. The Metropolis of the Empire would be prosperous but with a very different prosperity than that of the old Republic. It would be the spoils of the world flowing back to the Metropolis while most of the urban population would be welfarists living on handouts and entertainment provided by the Rulers. Rurally, agriculture will be done by several huge "private" corporations and there would be small farmers who produce for themselves and their neighbors. The whole non corporate rural scene is apt to be unaffected by the central government except for onerous taxation and for confiscation in years that the corporate farms are unable to provide sufficient food for the cities. Any surplus sold by the small farmers into the larger market will have to go through the corporations that will take most of the profit. The countryside will be relatively prosperous compared to the analagous populations of other countries so long as the rest of the world provides enough plunder for the homeland.

This scenario could happen under a Democrat or under a Republican. The citizenry really does not have much control of the actions and ambition of the president, no matter whom he be because the other two branches have ceded effectively all power to the Executive. The present Executive is increasingly a Dictator and the next one must necessarily be one. He may be a failed dictator who is overwhelmed by the established bureaucracy and the Democrats or he may be able to forcefully take charge.

That is why I think Trump is the only one who can turn it around. He has the force of personality to do it. So far he has not said that he will do some of the very necessary things like peremptorily abolishing EPA and the DOEs and totally reconstituting and restaffing DoJ but if he knows he has to do that, to return the Republic or to Rule, if he says that is what he means to do then he probably would not survive to be elected.
He has to kill the Agencies and he then has to induce the States to call that Convention. He cannot return power to the Congress without the Congress simply replacing him as the Dictator. He must induce the States to take power back unto themselves and shield the process from suppression by the Congress and the political parties.

It’s number 2.
He showed that with the amnesty push.
He is dishonest, and nobody needs a candidate who would pander to racial supremacist groups.

I agree with your comment. I am willing to look at Rubio, as I am willing to look at Trump, Cruz, Fiorina, Carson, Jindhal. All have positives and negatives. Rubio needs to recognize the trust issue address it head on.

a proven, two faced, liar. a man who traded on conservatism to get elected and then abandoned it to champion rubio-schumer amnesty.

a man who has no problem saying one thing in english and the opposite in spanish.

in otherwords, an alinskite, pretend-conservative politician.

he’ll never get my vote under any circumstances.
