Pope Francis and President Obama have both dedicated their lives to helping the less fortunate, and that commonality will be central to their meeting Wednesday during the pope's first visit to the United States, a White House spokesman said hours before Obama left to greet the pontiff as he landed at Andrews Air Force Base Tuesday afternoon.
"[B]oth men have talked, quite publicly, about their commitment to social justice," White House spokesman Josh Earnest said in previewing their Oval Office meeting scheduled for Wednesday morning. "And both men have dedicated their, not just their careers, but their lives, to that effort."
"Certainly the kind of commitment that we've seen from Pope Francis is unique and singular," Earnest allowed "but I think the values that both men live out have some common ground."

I have to read up on what he actually said. I’ve heard he said capitalism is fine, but extreme excess isn’t. Like running up a stock with lies and deception and walking away with 50 million while 25000 get fired and see their shares go to zero.

No wonder Pope Francisco expressed publicly his high esteem for the Cuban tyrant after a very friendly and familiar meeting with Fidel Castro. Not less was Francis’ admiration for Che Guevara, Castro’s cold bloody executioner who murdered hundreds of Cubans at the triumph of the revolution. Francis proudly portrayed himself as the Che Guevara of the Palestine people before going to the Holy Land.
Pope Francis, who said to be the advocate for the poor and the oppressed, in Cuba he became the voice of the oppressors not the voice of the 11 million of oppressed Cubans.
Francis planned an encounter with the poor and prisoners in United States; but in Cuba he did not meet with the Cuban political prisoners of conscience, he did not even dare to receive the Cuban dissidents who are the real representatives of the whole Cuban people captive in the island prison.
For Francis socialism is a form of Christianity in stark opposition to the constant condemnation of socialism in all its forms by the Magisterium of the Church from Pope Leo XIII to Benedict XVI who considered communism as “intrinsically evil” (Pope Pius XI Enciclical “Divini Redemptoris”.)
