Gov. Scott Walker of Wisconsin has concluded he no longer has a path to the Republican presidential nomination and plans to drop out of the 2016 campaign, according to three Republicans familiar with his decision, who spoke on condition of anonymity.
Mr. Walker called a news conference in Madison at 6 p.m. Eastern time.

Krauthammer gets nastier every day.
Would love to see FOX drop him.
As Dennis Miller said about Admiral Stockdale, “He committed the one unpardonable sin in our culture: he was bad on television.”
WHAT? Winner of WHAT precisely?
FOX needs to unload all those old curmudgeons.
New blood, new blood!
Brian Kilmeade, yes!
“Remind me, why did we drive the only Republican who faced down the unions out of the race so soon?”
Uh, because Walker delivered worse debate performances than Alfalfa would have, had zero charisma, flip-flopped over and over again on crucial issues like illegal immigration and got tricked into making stupid statements about a Canadian Wall, you know, to stop all of those millions of Canucks sneaking into the U.S. every year.
Something I haven’t ever seen mentioned ever, so I’ll say it.
When Walker won his Wisconsin recall election, the Leftists and Unions overplayed their hand by taking over the state capital among other things. They did not understand the crazy optics that they portrayed to the people of Wisconsin. It may have been about 5% for Walker in the polls, which is really a 10% swing for Walker. The Dems lost 5% that Walker gained.
I’ll coin it the ‘Paul Wellstone Effect’ that Walker got in his favor.
We disagree there.
Walker performed very poorly in both debates,
There's your tautology.
and he flip-flopped repeatedly on crucial issues like illegal immigration, and he got trapped by the press into making ridiculous statements about a Canadian Wall, you know, to stop those millions of Canucks that sneak into the U.S. every year.
That he did, as I said above.
I wonder how we would do with an all-Hispanic ticket?
Cruz/Rubio.
Now may be the time.
yeah...I’m missing the part where other than talking the talk Trump has actually ever walked the walk.
Or is having the capitol invaded by the left and having death threats against your family while fighting for his actual constituents with all type of reformative laws not considered boldly speaking for and defending conservative views?
Speaking is always a lot easier than doing...
What a shock. Not based on recent events, but from 6 months ago. Walker looked to be on the ball and ready to really contend. Once he officially launched in July, it was nothing short of a disaster.
I thought for sure he’d recalibrate and really push for an Iowa win. In the absence of Trump, I think he’d have been in a good position. Something went horribly wrong.
I have no clue...kinda weird.
He did attack Trump before Trump went after his Wisc. record.
Rubio is full of skeletons in his closet including marital infidelities, etc. If he ever rises to the top he wont stay there for very long.
By 2024, if nothing is done, guess what? We're a one-party republic...
BA-DA-BOOM!
Kasich scares me, too. But. Ohio.
Besides, the GOPe will push him ala GHW Bush on Reagan.
It was a mistake in 1980 and would be a mistake now. Politics ain’t beanbag, though, and I expect pressure on a non-GOPe candidate like you wouldn’t believe. As in, no infrastructure support if you don’t take on our guy.
Now, if the nominee ends up being an establishment guy? Who cares, the party will fracture.
My point is just this: no way the nominee goes back to Wisconsin for the VP pick. Paul Ryan killed Walker’s chance to be VP this cycle.
Hes young. Hell be around for at least 12 more years.
