HOUSTON -- We have breaking news in the Deputy Darren Goforth murder case.
And it's as concerning to the case as it is unfortunate to report.
Three weeks after Deputy Goforth was gunned down in cold blood, we're just now learning about a witness to the murder and her relationship to the deputy.
According to court records, that eyewitness told investigators she had a "romantic relationship" with Goforth for more than a year. That's all it says about their relationship.
Records also show she took a polygraph test and gave statements that are now in the hands of defense attorneys.

So sad for his widow and his children.
What possible difference can this make? He was still ambushed and murdered by a lunatic. How many times have we buried pillars of the community, politicians especially and praise them for being wonderful, selfless souls who had the morals of any alley cat? Whether he had a romantic relationship is no one’s business......he’s still dead, his murderer should be executed and his family should be spared this horrible publicity!!
Very sad for his wife. She's now going to be investigated thoroughly for any connection.

Exactly Cherry......there was mention of a woman sitting over him at the time but this got lost in all the turmoil Mentions of how this might affect the case is what’s bothering me.....HOW??? He was murdered...ambushed by a maniac....try him, execute him and be done with it!

Whether he had a romantic relationship is no one’s business...It's certainly the business of investigators.
HOW???Who knows? Did his wife know and have him offed? Did his mistress have a significant other that had him offed? If he was a cheat to his wife, who else did he cheat...and, did they have him offed?
Yes, but ONLY to the DA and investigators. The news hounds around here had no business blasting this all over the news...the scoop, the first with the story, the “exclusive” interviews seen only on whatever station. That’s what I was talking about.
