She says this on a podcast with Fox colleague Chris Stirewalt.
Dana: Do you think any of them run as a third party?
Stirewalt: No, Paul has been a loyal foot soldier for Mitch McConnell, he ain't gonna do that. And Ted Cruz ain't gonna do that. Could Trump still -- he's not gonna get --
Dana: I don't think it would be Trump.
Stirewalt: Who would it be?
Dana: I'm gonna hold my cards.
She advertised this on The Five and gave a big Chessire Cat grin like she's not speculating, like she knows something.
So: Who? Well, first of all, Perino is obviously very tapped into the Bush camp. And Bush would have the money (presumably) to mount a third party campaign.
Given that this comes down to money, it could be she's talking about Romney, though the initial question about any of them (that is, the candidates) running third party suggests she doesn't mean Romney.
Maybe she was just being misleading there.
Could she mean Bush? Could she possibly mean that Bush is considering a third party run?
Open thread. I know, terrible week of blogging. But seriously last night went really late.

Rand Paul is the candidate I think is most likely to get pissy and run as a third party candidate, given he is really a Libertarian. If he continues to not be able to gain traction, he may just take his ball elsewhere.
Her? I doubt it. No respectable woman would vote 3rd party for the failure that is Carly.
Of course, it would give Carly another Failure notch in her belt.
Yes, maybe you are right.
If the media takes him down and Jeb is still in I think it will be Trump. I figured out something watching the debate. Someone doesn’t want Jeb as POTUS period. I don’t either LOL. If Jeb dropped out I think someone else would loose interest :>}
Little Dana Bootlicker would support the Bush Crime Family even if they sold her to their Saudi pals.
Am I the only poster here who is old enough to remember that the RINOS did indeed run a third party candidate against Reagan in order to try & stop him?
Prove it, Carlos!
I’m old enough but was a first-time voter for a Republican in 1980 and was only interested in voting for RR and against Peanut.
Who was it and what Party? Is that Party still registered on all the State’s ballots?
Bikk Kristol was talking about Jeb too. The establishment is testing the waters on this idea.
Frankly, I'm surprised Bush didn't switch over sooner. Once ¡Hillary! started showing signs of being unelectable, they should have tagged in her "brother-in-law", Mr. Tippey-toes, in her stead.
I hit alt and ! at the same time. It’s perfect for ¡Hillary!
Any of them could break the pledge. But I don’t think Bush would. Just not a very Bush thing to do. I really can’t think of any of the 17 that seem likely to do that.
Why would they be more comfortable? He agrees with them on the issues.
An up-side-down ! would be a challenge for sure!!
I think she is thinking it will be Gutfeld
I doubt Rand Paul would consider a third party run for the Presidency, unless he wants to relinquish his day job as U.S. Senator for Kentucky.
Can we assume Dana Perino is referring to someone who WAS NOT ON THE STAGE FOR THE FIRST DEBATE?
Or is she saying one of the 'upstanding' types lied when he agreed?
