California has adopted a series of laws in recent years to help people in the country illegally, and polls show broad support for a pathway to citizenship for the estimated 2 million such immigrants living in the state.

But it's a different story when it comes to providing them healthcare benefits.

California voters sharply disagree on low-cost healthcare for immigrants

The headline is not worded correctly. Should read:

California voters sharply disagree on free healthcare for illegal immigrants.

More like illegal alien invaders.

I think the only thing for a sane, productive Californian to do is leave at this point. California passed the Welfare State tipping point years ago so the productive will always be outvoted by the moochers.

When they are officially legitimized in any permanent fashion, the class action lawsuits will flood (tsunami) into every court in the land.

They will argue unequal treatment of the law of occupants in this country under legal color. They will argue it deserves equal protection with the remedy of citizenship for all of them.

This is why any version of legitimization, amnesty, or other code-word is so dangerous. If this happens we will instantly get 50 million new legal Democrat voters.

...polls show broad support for a pathway to citizenship ...

I do not accept the premise that there is no pathway to citizenship. There is a pathway to citizenship the illegals just don't want to follow it.

As for the liberal spin on the matter, we can not keep accepting their false premises any longer. From immigration to health care to the environment etc. they state a false premise and we start arguing from a losing position just because we let them set the terms of the debate.

I think providing Free Health Care for Criminal Invaders is just fine. So much so, That it should be paid for by a Separate Assessment on ALL PUBLIC EMPLOYEE SALARIES AND RETIREMENT CHECKS>!!!

They should be lining up to show their support like their bosses believe they do!

I don't like this plan. Too often Californians leave their soiled nest, and bring their bad ideas to their new homes where they proceed to soil them too with the ideas that wrecked California.

And you have hit the nail on the head. We did the same thing with Kim Davis and the "Gay" marriage issue.

We do the same thing with pretty much every issue. Part of the reason we are susceptible to this tactic is because they have total control over all forms of media access to the public.

They set the terms of the debate because they control the cameras the microphones and the transmitters.

The headline is misleading. They are not talking about "immigrants", they are talking about illegal aliens.

Calling an illegal alien an "immigrant" is like calling a burglar an estate sale shopper.

Hmmmm, let me guess.... they're split between those few productive citizens who still reside in the state and parasitic, deadbeat, Demonic Party supporting lowlifes demanding more of the productive citizens' "stuff".

I don’t like that plan, either. The number of CA plates, I’m seeing here in TX....on a DAILY basis, is truly frightening.

I want to tell EVERY single one....leave your horrendous liberal views home, or get the heck out. DON’T turn TX into the cesspool CA has sadly become.

I think Trump’s plan is to cut off (require proof of citizenship for) welfare benefits.

That would take away a huge incentive to be here illegally.

Long experience with the results of California elections has shown that opinions of voters matter not a whit unless their vote falls in line with what the democrats in power feel.

The political/legal tactic has a name; it is called D & D - Deflection and Distraction. The instigator does the bad deed, but immediately deflects attention by charging others with some distraction. The other(s) become the defendant, so busy defending themselves, everyone forgets the problem was started by the instigator to begin with. D & D, best not forget the tactic. Conservatives are gamed by it continually!

Hmmmm. Hopefully this will be the straw that breaks the ‘producer's’ backs. STOP VOTING FOR THOSE WHO ENACT LAWS TO MAKE LIFE MORE DIFFICULT FOR THE HARD WORKING FOLKS IN CALIFORNIA! We left 6 years ago and don't miss the politics at all.

For a long time now, my devious mind has thought that the solution is "Reverse Cloward-Piven."

Every citizen with a productive non government job is usually successful enough to afford a 15% reduction in income. Leisure time.

Starve the beast...
