Qatar is very active in funding and sponsoring MB groups in Libya, Egypt and now also Gaza. But they have a good relationship with Israel, and quite a bit of leverage. However, Qatar is not as rich as it used to be, with these falls in energy prices, and its lavish spending on all sorts of private armies (possibly even ISIS forces). So perhaps they will not finance this, in the end.

Poor Israel. They have to accept good relations with a country that sponsors people who want them to die.

A country of six million people that just want a little peace.

What a crazy world.

In my worst of nightmares I see a side deal by obummer and kerry in which America promises to protect the skies above Iran.

Then Israel attacks Iran.

I would hope for a mutinee on our side. Never thought I’d say that.

Israel, not the US, is in an existential situation and compelled by zugzwang, will do whatever is necessary to survive. IMO, the USS Liberty was attacked in the Six-Day war because it could have alerted Egypt, via Russia, that the Egyptian border was vulnerable to Egyptian attack because Israeli forces were massing to hit the Golan Heights. IOW, is the IDF has to take out American assets, they will do it. Like you, I would hope for a mutiny if the US troops were ordered to attack Israeli targets.

I can’t ever agree with any country for any reason attacking and killing American sailors. And once the ship was done there was no reason to keep firing at the men on lifeboats.

But it’s done. no point revisiting it for me.

And they did the dirty work for us in Iraq, and, I think, Syria, regarding nuclear facilities, and may end up doing it again.

I wont let my mind even contemplate a dogfight :(
