BOONE, Iowa Donald Trump zeroed in Saturday on Republican rival Ben Carson, questioning whether he has the energy to be president, a line he has frequently used to taunt Jeb Bush.
"I don't think Ben has the energy," said Trump, before calling him a "nice man" and arguing that he is not cut out for negotiating with some foreign officials.
The attack came as Carson, a retired surgeon running an outsider campaign like Trump, has surged into second place in many surveys, behind the brash real estate mogul.
Trump, who campaigned here before heading to a tailgate party where a trio of other GOP hopefuls were also appearing, also criticized Carson for recently questioning his Christian faith.
"You don't hit a person on faith," said Trump. "I don't know him. He knows nothing about me."

[...I am afraid he is going to nod off.]
Perhaps, his advisers told him that low talking was going so great and told him to relax more and talk a little lower.
Problem is that he could end up sounding like the ‘low talker’ on Seinfeld.
And angry.
He would bring the gift of gold.
Oh lol... the other two (traditional guessing) Wise Men would have little containers, while Trump would have this humongous chest with a T on it.
Did you have a chance to look at that youtube video I submitted to you. It’s was on Fox’s Debate Wrap-Up and was probably seen by a very large audience.
He’s kind of pinched between what is dawning on him now and what his traditional orthodox liberal background was.
The latter is a mindless reflex, the former engages his heart and brain now. I am hoping it will win and that will be what is remembered when the pressure comes and every liberal in America is hounding him to go to his “roots.”
People change when they get older...almost always being more conservative.
“Low energy” If it ain’t broke don’t fix it. LOL!
(whatever happened to Reagans 11th commandment, anyway?)
Back in those days, the Republican Party hadn’t quite yet morphed into the (r)epublican party and demoncraps lite.
Not enough energy? Who’s next? Fiorina? Oh wait, it’s her face that’s sagging. I wonder where this whiz kid gets all his energy at age 69.
Unless on the USSC where they drift liberal
I see. well, Reagan did have to overcome some pretty leftist types in the “R-establishment” ... as I recall.
But yes, its gotten to be a very split outfit
(there are millions of D’s wno do not support nearly as much communism or fascism as does the party leadership, so the D party has a somewhat similar split personality maybe?)
we might really want to someday consider a parliamentary system with multiple parties.... at least it might do away with the new King geOrge type of dictatorship in one man
I think trump will have no problem saying that if Carson is the best
I’m not impressed with Mr. Trump going after Dr. Carson.
I know that Dr. Carson threw the first jab, but he has since apologized.
Dr. Carson is not going to be the GOP nominee.
I’m sure Mr. Trump is well aware of that, too, so I think Trump would be better served by praising Carson’s miraculous medical achievements and leave it at that.
Trump could add, that even the doctor knows, “Trump is the R/x” for America’s ailments.
But, Trump is more Archie Bunker than Dr Welby.
From all I heard during my years in NYC, Trump is a generous and decent human being.
The reason he is attacking Carson in Iowa is that Carson has invested a lot of personal time in Iowa and could conceivably win it. Trump needs to increase his lead if possible.
As an aside, that idiot Lawrence O'Donnell said that when he was in the hospital in NYC, Trump was the first person to call. Previously, O'Donnell had never said much nice about Trump...now he gushes about Trump.
I believe in TsimTsum. God’s made a space and we can decide in it.
Trump is playing a character, and he knows playing that character works to a degree.
God can change the dimensions of the space at His will. Not all are granted a Trump sized space, nor would it fit in His plan for that to be the case.
How did you feel about Imelda Marco’s space? I feel like I’m talking to a Christian Science practitioner and that’s why I ask.
I promise to watch later. If Trump’s really a conservative, I’ll support him to the hilt as the nominee, particularly if he crushes Clinton and then jails her. But I just don’t see it.
The more I look the faker he gets.
