The scherzo, marked presto in B-flat minor, is based on two phrases that are a musical hiccup or stutter. The middle section is helter-skelter. The beginning returns, and after a grand total of two minutes, the fun is over.

The slow movement in sonata format is marked andante con moto ma non troppo, but also carries the marking poco scherzoso, a little jokingly. It starts with a somber recollection of the first movement material, but thats part of the joke. It takes off for a genial movement with a singing development before the return.
