Taking unsuspecting hits like that can kill cripple or kill an individual.
Taking unsuspecting hits like that can cripple or kill an individual too!
Both assaults were by black criminals (er, players), eh?
Sounds like the ref knows exactly how to handle this.
Charge them with assault. Should be an open-and-shut case. The “racial slur” defense is no real defense to the crime. At most, it might be mitigation at the penalty phase. And if (as I am guessing) it is a bogus claim it might tend to make the penalty greater than it otherwise would be.
The interesting question is whether anyone on the team or the coaching staff encouraged this. They could be charged as principals in the crime, and the “yoots” might talk if they are facing hard time.
And hit them with a lawsuit for slander for lying about the racial slur.
It was an “Act of Love”.
Charge, convict, and jail. This is so egregious. Even if there was a racist comment, no excuse for this.
If you're a coward, like these on-field crotch sniffers are, who, as along with their 'coach', missed many aspects of the game."
This is not America any more, it’s Obamaland.
when I first viewed this, I thought, ‘knockout game.’
then I wondered if there were any other knockout victims in the surrounding area in the last six months? didn’t seem the boys needed much prompting to act
“My daughter was an All-State level softball player. She had natural athletic ability. I had the privilege of coaching her team before High School.
She was an outstanding hitter, and fielder and at 50 she was the smallest player I had.
She was at bat during a game, and the Umpire was making bad strike calls because of her height. The parents were POd,...”
Weren’t YOU one of the parents you are talking about?
“As educators, we’ve got to take this opportunity to teach our young people two wrongs don’t make a right,”
Unblinking acceptance from the “educators” that what the thugs said was true. Otherwise, they would have to punish the offenders who are minority. That is racism itself, in their view.
Like scratching Juan Valdez on the wall at the Alamo.
How many posts were deleted here? 10? 15? More?
Either you need to delete many more or better yet, delete the whole thread.
I see a lot of ignorant FReepers posting under the assumption that the players were black. They were not.
This thread is an embarrassment.
I guess I missed it. Where has there been a report that they were white players?
"Two Texas football players accused of intentionally ramming into a referee during a high school game allege the referee directed racial slurs at them, school district officials said Tuesday." (District: 2 Players Allege Ref Made Racial Slur Before Hit)
Maybe the two football players "identify" themselves as being NONWHITE and regard any comments from the WHITE ref about them as being racial slurs.
Someone earlier in this thread posted videos of the incident. The first guy to hit the ref is definitely white-skinned... the second is harder to tell because he has long sleeves on, but looking at the face he looked light-skinned as well. I suppose they could have been Hispanic or Asian... but definitely not black.
Uhh, no.
They were yelling at him and ragging him.
The fact that the calls WERE bad was an OBSERVATION that was not vocalized by me, the coach/father.
I did go behind the dugout after it was over and had a PRIVATE laugh at the spectacle of her kicking sand on his shoes like the Pro’s do.
Here is the deal, in Texas if Three or more people are involved in a conspiracy to commit a felony they are guilty of “organized crime.” Ask the bikers in Waco about this.
We have an Assistant coach and two players possibly guilty of a felony. If they all talked about it we have a conspiracy.
Mr. DA, do your job, charge them with Organized Crime.
