You feel like you’re in romantic purgatory.

It’s real. It’s not a hazy paranoia.

And it’s not a matter of being too fat or too loud, too timid or too aggressive, too slutty or too frigid. If you’re a single, college-educated woman in Manhattan, the cards of love are stacked in favor of you remaining single—but it has nothing to do with texting a guy too soon or (not) sleeping with someone on a third date.

I went for someone from a culture and family where marriage is STILL RESPECTED. So far so good.

Told my boys to do the same. Americans are 5% of the world population, there boatloads of women out there looking for a real husband and family, rather than just a cash cow.

So, in the end, it’s all a probability game when choosing a mate - you go to a traditional culture, you have a 90% chance of success, you stick with American culture, maybe 50%. As a parent, I consider it MY DUTY to guide my kids in the proper direction for a healthy life...no different than trying to keep them in nice, safe cars, rather than on motorcycles. It is their choice, but it is my job to guide them.

Flushing with the lid up resulted in e-coli everywhere, including on toothbrushes several feet away, even separated by a wall. Gross.

I accidentally locked a cat in the bathroom all day. I was sure the little guy must have peed somewhere, so I took a black light into the bathroom to find the spot (black light reveals urine).

I did not find a cat accident, but the walls were covered in little urine spots. We just moved into the house; obviously, I need to wash the walls! It's gross; I try not to think too much about those spots.
