NEW YORK (Reuters) - A day after one of his top aides was critically wounded by a stray bullet, Governor Andrew Cuomo on Tuesday called for a national gun control policy, saying that New York's tough firearms laws are ineffective if they stand alone.
Police sought suspects in the shooting of Carey Gabay, 43, believed to be an unintended target who was struck in the head at an outdoor celebration on Monday before the West Indian Day parade in Brooklyn, a spokeswoman for the New York Police Department said. Gabay, the first deputy counsel at Empire State Development, the state's chief economic development agency, remains in critical condition at Kings County Hospital Center, said a Cuomo spokesman.

The misnamed "SAFE ACT" was issued under Emergency Conditions , initiated under goverrnors orders, when there wasn't any emergency.
Rather , it was his "ego" that wanted to 'out-progressive' OBungler prior to the Administrations anticipated response to the Sandy Hook shooting .
Again , his 'ego' got in the way of significant legislation
and his two associate cohorts in passing the "SAFE ACT" are currently under (DOJ) Federal investigation for abuse of office.
Is Cuomo next ? .. Only time will tell !

All that is needed to do this properly is a new amendment to abolish the 2nd. All the more power to y'a... just get congress to pass an amendment, or start an Amendments Convention for the states to propose one, and then let 3/4 of the several states ratify.

This same great knowledgeable buzzard of a governor is why all the gun manufacturers that WERE in New York State, relocated out of state.
He is presently suffering the Feinstein effect, after an aide of his is “hit by a stray bullet”. I think the one that shot that bullet was aiming to give Cuomo a message, but like all Democrats, Cuomo didn’t get it.

This was apparently gang related. Its a good bet the perpetrators did the shooting with a gun they already illegally possessed. Of course, the answer is to make that even more illegal.
