On Sept. 9, Queen Elizabeth II will become the longest reigning British monarch, surpassing the record held previously by her great-great grandmother, Victoria, who reigned for 63 years, 216 days. Victoria became Queen June 20, 1837 and died Jan. 22, 1901. Allowing for leap years and the time of day at which each monarch was told of the death of their predecessor, it has been calculated that Queen Elizabeth will pass that landmark time at around 5:30 p.m. in the U.K. or 12:30 p.m. EST. Elizabeth II became queen on the death of her father, George VI, Feb. 6, 1952. Her father was only 56 when he died of lung cancer.

Just saying...
Hang on, Lizzie!
Why haven’t the monarchy lost their heads? Do they really need these in-breds sitting around high on the hog and doing absolutely nothing?
Amen! May she outlive that appeasing sack of.....
See 17: Eliza worked as a mechanic. Her grandsons served honorably overseas.
Son Charles can peer through a knothole, suffering no loss of depth perception.
If you’re talking about QEI, she never would have existed if Henry VIII hadn’t divorced Catherine of Aragon, though. Mary I (Bloody Mary) would have reigned upon the death of her half brother Edward, which she did until they threw her off the throne for executing Protestants.
At least the Kennedy's are mostly gone, Clinton's never got there, nor the Bush's, and it is nice to know that Obamas will be going in less than two years.
“I think Her Majesty can take care of herself”.
I think she was looking for stray Muzzies.
Same with the Swastika.
Given that her mother lived past 100, she will be around for the next ten years, easy. Wonder if she still rides? She seems to have been an excellent rider.
“Wonder if she still rides? She seems to have been an excellent rider”.
I think she still rides but not for long.
I bet she won’t go near any potential danger for the next few days.
General Patton quit playing polo and jumping about a year before Pearl Harbor. He didn’t want to risk getting hurt and not fighting in the war he knew was coming.
ANYTHING to keep her ‘tarded son away from any semblance of power. Lady Di could have been nurtured into a keeper, but no......
We all came from somewhere, while some of us were already here, or at least I was,
along with ancestors from Germany and that little island the size of Illinois.
I think we can recognize the extraordinary effect the English have had on the world, and that eras of time are still described with the names of their monarchs, without worrying too much that they will return and try to burn our White House again ... lighten up ya fierce noob. ;^]
Congrats to HRH.
She has floated in her bubble of privilege while unborn babies—WHO ARE LEGALLY HER SUBJECTS—have been murdered in the millions, and while England has been invaded by Muslims and the freedoms of Englishmen have been systematically expunged. Not a peep.
While I believe Mary did execute Protestants, I don’t think she was thrown off her throne for those acts. She only ruled a few years and died still Queen while in her early 40s I think

The Prince of Wales served in the British military for five years. In the mid 1970s, he was the dashing young helicopter pilot that his sons have emulated.
Britain was at peace at the time so he was never called on to fight for his country. But if a combat situation had developed, his job was to deliver Royal Marine commandos to and from battle. And even in peacetime, men doing that job lost their lives in training accidents.
He finished his active Naval career in command of a small minesweeper, which is today known to have been engaged in spying activities against the Soviet Union using the fact the he was in command as part of their cover to suggest that it wasn't really doing anything important.
I have known the Prince for nearly fifty years - ever since he was sent from the UK to Australia to attend the same school as me. We met again, briefly, while we were both Naval officers. Later I served more extensively with his younger brother, the Duke of York, and through him, have become a friend of the Prince of Wales as well. It honestly saddens me that people seem to have accepted the caricature of him that has been largely created by the left wing media who also tend to ignore any speech or statement he makes unless it agrees with their beliefs, meaning many people only ever hear of him talking about things like the environment and never hear about him talking about the plight of veterans and the need to support them, and certainly never hear about the speeches where he speaks out in detail about the oppression of Christians in the Middle East.
There's a lot of misinformation about him spread around. He's certainly far from a perfect person, but he's nothing like the one the media has tried to make him out to be. He's a patriot. He's a Christian. He's a gun owner and a shooter. On most issues, he's a conservative - and these are probably all part of the reason why they have done their best to turn him into a joke.
He won't defend himself. He probably wouldn't like me doing it. He accepts all this in life as part of his duty to his country and to the Commonwealth - a duty he never asked for, but that he has nonetheless decided to do to the best of his ability until the day he dies. And he's lived his entire life knowing that the only way he can ever fully reach his potential is for a person he dearly loves to die. Yes, he's a bit strange at times. With his life, I think most of us would be.
She does, but generally only on smaller horses (more or less ponies) in comparison to those she used to ride, and generally only when she is teaching her Grandchildren to ride (Lady Louise and Viscount Severn are still young enough for this). Now that she has Great-Grandchildren, I'm pretty sure she's hoping she can be around long enough to teach them as well.
