Former Vice President Dick Cheney said Sunday that the European refugee crisis is “a direct consequence” of President Obama’s failed foreign policy and that he does not support the Iran nuclear deal.
Cheney, who was vice president in the George W. Bush administration, said Obama has helped to “create a huge vacuum” in Iraq for terror groups like the Islamic State to flourish and kill by failing to secure an agreement with Iraqi leaders to keep U.S. troops in the country after the war.
“That contributed directly to the refugee crisis,” Cheney told “Fox News Sunday.” “It’s a crisis of major proportions.”
Tens of thousands of refugees from Syria, Iran, Pakistan and other Middle East countries are now flooding into Europe as a result of civil wars and terror attacks in that region.
The war in Iraq began during the Bush administration, which established a troop-withdrawal date of December 2011.

While that is true, overthrowing Saddam Hussein helped in make the region more unstable. You can’t separate out blame going way back to WWI and the meddling of Europeans in the affairs of the middle east, iran, north Africa etc.
What is true is that the middle east and nearby areas have been in turmoil since Islam came to the region over 1000 years ago. That various others have used that to their (supposed) advantage is only part of the story.
Cheney needs to sit down and shut up. He was part of the “nation building” idiocy in Islamic regions. That Obama has made things worse since does not exonerate him and his ilk in any way.

The agreement with the Iraqi government that stipulated the withdrawal of U.S. military forces from Iraq was signed by George W. Bush in November of 2008. Dick Cheney was the vice president under President Bush in 2008, wasn't he?
18 December 2011 Obama withdrew, setting the stage for Iran’s Mideast dominance and the birth of ISIS. He would contribute to the chaos in Syria later with his multiple red line strategy but this was the single most important date.
