Nun: Pope Francis Believes Role of Politics Is To 'Control Economy'
NewsBusters ^ | Mark Finkelstein

In America, the role of politics and politicians is to defend the Constitution. And the essence of that Constitution is to limit the powers of government while protecting the unalienable rights of the people as described in the Declaration of Independence. But according to a prominent Catholic sister, Pope Francis has a very different view, one which she obviously shares.

Appearing on MSNBC's Up With Steve Kornacki today, Sister Simone Campbell said that the Pope was "very clear" in his encyclical. Rather controlling government, he believes the role of politics is to "control the economy."

What has happened to the Catholic Church?

Is this what our Lord had in mind in Matthew 16:18, Sister? I think not.

What has happened to the Catholic Church?

The United States Conference of Catholic Bishops has been working for socialism for perhaps a century. (Go to their website and drill down to their specific position papers). Why would the South American Church be different?

Vatican needs to lead by example and divest.

Luke 6:42
How can you say to your brother, ‘Brother, let me take the speck out of your eye,’ when you yourself fail to see the plank in your own eye? You hypocrite, first take the plank out of your eye, and then you will see clearly to remove the speck from your brother’s eye.

It doesn’t matter if pope f. pretends to live simply in a small chamber in a palace. Pope f. is a hypocrite because he promotes world government; he is a globalist. This is the antithesis to freedom. He will not restrain the banksters and large exempt crony capitalists. Pope f. wants to tax and destroy the middle class and nouveau riche via carbon and global government taxation. Then, he and the other globalists will divide it up “fairly” in accordance with corrupt social justice principles. So that the whole process goes smoothly, he will ensure that U.S. Citizens will be disarmed and disenfranchised.

Pope f. is an evil man; he just can’t see it because he has been brainwashed by the Devil’s ideology.

What planet are you from? I keep reading this nonsense you people are spouting about the violent overthrow of the government. It’s not going to happen. You watch too many movies. And stop with the silliness.

That’s pretty funny coming from the pope. He ought to take a ride down memory lane and study the history of the catholic church.

Letting gov’t define “excesses and predatory behavior” is not a good idea.

It's imperfect, I'll agree. And, the more it is defined by unaccountable regulators, rather than legislatively, the farther from ideal it gets.

Still, I think that it's good that we have some overall ground rules, like the Uniform Commercial Code, or many (not all!) of our Criminal Laws.

"fascism". Sometimes also known as "oligarchy".

Those are kind of the opposite of each other.

Fascism is the control of corporations and other business entities by the government (but not government ownership).

Oligarchy is the control of the government by wealthy individuals (who do not hold government positions).

The Pope is Argentine. The ruling Peronist party in Argentina is Fascist, and has been Fascist, since Hitler was in power in Germany. I guess the Pope is just true to his "roots".

Fascism is the control of corporations and other business entities by the government (but not government ownership).

And the circle behind that government is what you call "oligarchs". Whether the circle forms the government, or the circle is formed by the government, it winds up being the same.

Chavez, the communist, built a fascist government. The people at the top who held him in power (whose companies were protected) would be the oligarchs. They might not be the same people as the previous pre-Chavez oligarchy, but they are oligarchs just the same.

We tend to think things like fascists, communists, oligarchs, as being distinct and exclusive when in fact they travel together.

There is no “Biblical Pope.”

For there is one God, and one mediator between God and men, the man Christ Jesus.” (1 Timothy 2:5).

The purpose of government:

Romans 13:4 states that government is “the minister of God, a revenger to execute wrath upon him that does evil.”

That’s not a nun. That’s just an old biddy in frumpy clothes.

More like an old 60's hippie; fortunately they are dying off. When they do we can pray for their souls and the Church may get back on track.
