Donald Trump is blasting Hugh Hewitt after stumbling over foreign policy questions in an interview with the conservative radio host.
[He is] a third rate radio announcer, Trump told hosts Joe Scarborough and Mika Brzezinski on MSNBCs Morning Joe on Friday morning.
Trump clashed with the radio host on Thursday evening's "The Hugh Hewitt Show." Hewitt began asking him what he called commander-in-chief questions about international affairs. The exchange became heated when Trump mistook a question about Irans Quds Force as a query about the Kurds.
On Friday, Trump said that the broadcasters show is beneath him despite his multiple appearances with Hewitt since launching his 2016 campaign in June. Trump said Hewitt was trying to embarrass him by asking about obscure topics.
Every question was, do you know this one or know that one? Trump said.

When asked to name the terrorist leader, Trump should have said "I don't know, but it's most likely MOHAMMED!"
Trump is a manager, not a wonk. A manager hires the experts to handle the details. I'm sure that John Bolton, Trump's Secretary of State knows the names of all the people.
I haven't listened to talk radio regularly for a while, but I remember Hugh Hewitt as being an excellent interviewer.
Some of these so-called conservative radio hosts really suck!
Hugh Hewitt is one of them. Michael Medved, Gallager, etc.
There was NOTHING wrong with the questions. These aren't "gotcha" questions. Trump just doesn't know anything about the subject matter at all. I do. I could have answered these questions. Many people here could. Many of the other candidates could. Trump simply failed and is crying about it.
It is one thing to challenge liberal media narratives, quite another to cry, moan, whine and rage tweet when you are challenged with tough questions and are too ignorant to answer them. Ignorance doesn't necessarily disqualify someone, I doubt Carson would know many of those answers either. But how one responds to being challenged with tough questions does matter as it goes to their temperament.
If Trump can't handle something like this, how is going to deal with being told "no" by the courts, Congress, foreign leaders, etc, on a regular basis? Trump can't even keep himself from rage tweeting like a 12 year old.
Hewitt has asked these same questions, more or less, to every candidate who has come on his show. Why are they all of a sudden “gotcha” questions? Other than that Trump could not answer them, and that Trump has thinner skin than any of the other candidates?
I think it’s hilarious to read the trumpeters complain about Rinos...like trump has ever been a conservative. If by some miracle he gets in the white house, 3 predictions:
1 no wall will ever be built
2 he will flip flop on most immigration issues
3 taxes will go up, special interest tax brakes for the connected will, too
I want my President focused on domestic policy; not on giving away my tax dollars to people who hate us.
Yeah ok, sure. If that’s the excuse you guys are going to float out, then when the candidate you do support gets asked some question along the same lines, I hope you are prepared to praise the questioner, and to publicly label that guy an idiot.
I can’t remember the subject he was addressing but his position seemed to be 180* from what you would figure the conservative should be.
Didn’t seem like a gotcha question. Just seems like he shouldn’t make claims when he’s not prepared for questions related to those claims.
Or he could have just explained the claims. It makes him appear weak in character, not weak in policy. Policy wise, yeah, everyone wants to kill our bad guys and yeah, not everyone is going to have the answer, but to not have the answer and to assume it was a gotcha question?
Let me get my tinfoil hat cos conspiracy time!
I guess the Bible question must have been a gotcha question as well.
As far as Cruz
Good on ya. See my trio in my description.
TED CRUZ: General Sulemani, the commander of Iran's Quds Forces has more American blood on his hands than any living terrorist. Under this agreement, the sanctions on Gen. Sulemani are lifted. Sec. Kerry said to the families of those who lost their lives, who were killed by Gen. Sulemani, should apologize. Sec. Carter, I understand that the joint personnel agency has a classified list of about 500 Americans who were killed by Iranian IEDs. I would ask Sec. Carter, so that we can do what Sec. Kerry suggested. That the Defense Dept. release that list for every member of this committee, declassify that list and make it available to the families of those killed by Gen. Sulemani.
But sure, Trumpettes, it was just a "gotcha" question....
I’m not sure if you can listen to HH or not. I can. I choose not to. He is a moderate, and it is so frustrating to listen to him blow it constantly on important issues, that I choose not to listen in.
Michael Medvid likes to sell himself as a Conservative also, and the guy isn’t even close to being a Conservative.
These two are under construction as far as I am concerned. I always take an alternate route.
I don’t know why Levin would like Hugh, but I don’t consider their outlooks to be similar. I haven’t listened to Levin, but I have read his articles, and I agree with what I’ve read from him.
This type of behavior bothers me too. It all seems so infantile to be having spats about what newscaster is good and which one isn't.
Obama has pulled this with the press..."be nice to me or I won't invite you to the next presser, and I might call you out for being negative to me."
I like Trump but after the Megyn Kelly feud went on for days more than it should have, and it was being fought on Twitter...it really bothered me that he couldn't just move on.
I'm all for talking back to the press, but then to pile on insults because it didn't go your way seems childish.
“Some of these so-called conservative radio hosts really suck!”
Don’t forget Erick Erickson one of the worst.
General Sulemani has been commander of the Quds forces for nearly 20 years.
Did I call Trump an idiot?
Nope, your words.
I just said he has bad character and doesn’t seem to be mature when it comes to having a question asked of him that’s not prepared for his specific knowledge level.
I meant that Chechnya’s leader was the one that W had been asked about. This Quds question in is Hewitt doing the same thing to Trump. I doubt Obama or Biden or Hillary could answer it, either.
Prager thinks the little people don’t need guns.
Haven’t you heard the latest?
Trump doesn’t need to know anything because he’ll hire the best advisors to advise him.
Of course the obvious is missed, unless you know something about the subject you don’t know if the person you hire to advise you is giving good or bad advise.
Look at the people Obama has surrounded himself with.
Marie Harf is a perfect example of a complete idiot giving advise.
