Donald Trump found himself briefly cornered during a call-in radio interview on Thursday. The presidential candidate was a guest on the The Hugh Hewitt Show when conservative host Hugh Hewitt began examining the real estate magnates foreign policy chops. Trump seemed to know something was coming, as Hewitt has a nose for generating news (most recently by asking Republican candidates if they would attend a gay wedding), but it was not a flattering exchange for Trump, who confessed to gaping holes in his foreign policy understanding.
Trump managed to emerge only slightly bloodied from the interview and the damage was contained largely thanks to Hewitts willingness to move on as Trump grasped for answers or provided patently absurd ones. At one point, Trump assured Hewitt: I will be so good at the military, your head will spin.
The back-and-forth began with Hewitt, who will co-moderate the upcoming GOP debate on CNN, asking not just about the Iran dealbut specifically the response of Qassim Suleimani, the commander of the Quds Force of Iran's Islamic Revolutionary Guards. Hewitt asked if Trump knew who Suleimani was. Trump obviously didnt, so Hewitt described him as running the Quds forces. Trump responded with an unfortunate assessment of the treatment of the Kurds.

I don’t believe Cruz will cave on the causes he commits to.
Are you referring to Cruz> If so, its amazing (and a shame) how Trump has caused so many conservatives to turn their back on a good man. I see it all the time in comments, people belittling Cruz supporters.
Its funny because when this Trump stuff started, first it was “I like that he’s shaking up the system, but Cruz is still my guy”. Then it was “I will support Trump to clear a path for Cruz. Finally, Cruz has been discarded altogether.
Trump: “I’ll find a guy!”
- we should elect that guy instead then
Lol, right? Thanks for the new tagline
Good Lord - you missed my point. I said he was mocking the RNC pledge - NOT the pledge of Allegiance. Brush up on your reading comprehension skills.
Take your spam somewhere else. It’s growing tiresome.
Birds of a feather.
Someone tell Hewitt what Salami's name is at this point in a political campaign is totally insignificant. And why great leaders obtain great military minds and top staff who know ALL specifics regarding international affairs and for all the issues.
Inform Hewitt that new presidents have many briefing on current national security issues to get them up to speed. In fact these briefing go on throughout the duration of a president.
No wonder I never listen to Hewitt. Get a clue Hewitt.
Trump continues to brag about how smart he is but he doesn’t even know the Iranian group responsible for killing so many Americans. No worries. He outsource the knowing of important stuff to others.
I just heard that on bret baier rebroadcast at 300 am... I’m up way too late.
Anyway, I think he said I am pledging allegiance to the republican party, and the conservative principals for which it stands...
And then I though to myself LOL! That is the Pledge of Allegiance for one, and for two the republican party doesn’t stand for anything much less conservative principals.
He was totally mocking them :D
He wasn’t mocking the Pledge, he was mocking the Republican party.
Cruz is a good man. He also has some flaws.
Problem is he is not winning the primary race.
He has been eclipsed by Trump and even a couple of others, so that is very troubling.
Happen to catch his show a few weeks ago (I normally do not listen, but nothing good was on) and he interviewed Chris Christie very differentially. Two RINOs chatting and enjoying their mutual admiration society with no silly gotcha questions.
My gotcha questions to Christie would have been: Do you think a guy who talks tough and yet cries like a baby and paws all over Obama on national TV at the first crisis in his governorship deserves a higher office?
Not a Trump fan however...
Americans, Persident or common Joe, Don’t need to know ‘details’. concerning the middle east. They only need to know the overriding principle.
“Islam”.
By their own words “Me and my brother against the world, Me against my brother.”
Not one iota of brainpower need be extended to think further. They are all the enemy and should be treated as a monolithic entity because when it’s Islam Vs. anyone, and it is ALWAYS Islam vs. everyone, they ARE a monolithic enemy.
He Knows what counts in life, making lots of money and getting a wife who looks like this

She would make a good looking First Lady and make it easy to forget Moochelle.
Watch out. Incoming. HH will have bombs blasted at him? Lol.
The Uniparty plays debating games all day while they screw the country. I don’t give a crap if Donald Trump doesn’t know the names of Muslim scumbags that the Uniparty weaklings should have killed yesterday. I only care that he appoints people who will inflict tremendous suffering on them and their supporters.
But he didn't ask for about her past support of amnesty, man-made global warming, carbon taxes and common core; or how she can claims she would be tough on Iran, when as HP CEO she illegally traded with the Islamic regime.
I know that you know already know this since you posted over there in the earlier thread as well. In fact you are using the same bullet list in both places.
So what's going on here? You guys are such trolls that you are willing to pollute Free Republic with two of the worst leftist tampons in existence while you simultaneously accuse Trump of being a leftist. Am I leaving anything out? How low will y'all stoop?
You guys really are your candidates' ( *allegedly* Cruz ) own worst enemies.
You are correct. At this point in the game it is far better for Trump to be focusing on his marketing of the campaign and not worrying about the minor details of terrorism
